Story
Meet Clyde! Clyde is a 4-year-old, 75lb mastiff mix who loves playing fetch and laying outside in the sun with his family. His superpowers include making you laugh with his goofy personality, learning and listening well to commands, not knowing a stranger and keeping you company all day if you'll let him! He is crate trained, does not get on furniture, and is pretty content to lay around the house between walks and playing fetch outside. He was born during the pandemic so is anxious around other dogs, but once he gets comfortable is very playful. He is better with large dogs that can match his size and energy. He is still unsure around cats and sometimes doesn't realize his size or his strength, but he is loyal, loving and just wants to please you! Some of his favorite things are chuck it balls, any treat.... but jerkies are the best and running around the yard. If you're looking for a companion for your run, with all the puppy love and energy but house-trained, obedient and also down to just chill he might be your perfect match! Clyde is currently being fostered in the Northern, KY area. His adoption fee is $275.00 To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE PROFILE BEFORE APPLYING.Olga is a 182lb, 5 year old English Mastiff, and like all mastiffs she is a giant, lazy baby! Unfortunately though, Olga has been let down in life and has some trust issues because of it. She was abandoned by her old owner, and ended up in the shelter. Whatever happened in her life before, it caused her to not trust a lot of people, especially men, and young ones who may not be well-versed in a dog's body language. For this reason we are only going to adopt her to a home without men, unless they have professional experience with dog training or behavior. She is extremely loving and affectionate with women she trusts, it just might take a few meetings. If she doesn't like you, just give it time, and work with her. She's not mean, just uncertain, and will react accordingly. She is currently on Prozac for her anxiety. Due to her history she needs a good amount of structure and personal time to solidify the dog-owner bond. Because of this, it would be best that Olga goes to a quiet home of only one or two adults, preferably someone with experience owning very large dogs. Good news though - Olga is fine with most other animals!! Of course if you have a dog a meet-and-greet will be required, but she's lived with dogs before and had no issues. If you give her a chance you won't be disappointed: she really is a sweet and gentle giant. She loves to sniff around the yard and scratch her back in the grass, and she is very gentle taking treats. She'll lean on you for ear rubs and neck scratches, and she likes to give slobbery kisses! So, won't you give Olgie a chance? To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. Story
Chuck Norris (knows Groot) is a 5 year old mastiff mix weighing about 75 pounds. That’s 75 pounds of pure LOVE.  He’s good with kids. He was returned to SAAP for not liking the boyfriend's dog, which like humans, dogs don’t have to like every single dog.  We’re recommending slow intros or he may just have to be your one and only! Nothing wrong with that. We aren’t sure how he is with cats. He, like me if i were a dog, doesn’t like being crated but he does great free roaming. Story
This big hunk of mastiff love is ready for his furever home! Benelli is just over a year old and FULLof love and snuggles! This guy is big at 68lbs but very very low energy. He is good on a leash and in the car but most happy laying with his loved ones on the couch! He's great with kids/dogs/kitties...every single thing! He's a shy guy but once he warms up he's the sweetest most loving dude in the world! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 He is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Adoption fee is $200.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 26, 2024, 10:02 am
