Story
Ruby is a 5½-year-old female Mastiff/Boxer mix whose life recently changed through no fault of her own. After spending nearly her entire life in a loving home, her owner had to surrender her due to changing life circumstances. Ruby is now waiting patiently for the chance to feel the comfort, safety, and love of a home again — and the sooner she finds her new family, the better. At over 100 pounds, Ruby is an extra-large girl with a soft, solid coat, expressive eyes, and one of the gentlest demeanors you’ll ever see in a dog her size. She absolutely adores people and quickly forms deep bonds with her humans. Once Ruby loves you, you truly have a loyal friend for life. She’s protective of those she cares about and devoted to her family in the sweetest way. Ruby is a happy, affectionate girl who greets people with a wagging tail and her signature move — leaning her big body against you for pets and attention. She enjoys playing with toys and is great at entertaining herself, especially if she has a sturdy bone or rubber toy to chew on. She does well with other dogs when given a slow introduction and when her boundaries are respected. Ruby is also phenomenal with kids and would thrive in a family environment where she can soak up attention and companionship. Because she has a prey drive toward smaller animals, Ruby would do best in a home without cats, rabbits, hamsters, or other small pets. The good news? Ruby comes with excellent house manners — she is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. Ruby would do wonderfully in just about any household that’s ready to welcome a big dog with an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a soft soul and plenty of love to give, Ruby might be the perfect match for your family. Give this gentle giant the second chance she deserves.

Story
Reacher is a 1-year-old male Mastiff mix who was surrendered to us through no fault of his own. He spent the first year of his life in a loving home, but life can change quickly, and his owners had to make the heartbreaking decision to bring him back to the shelter. Now, Reacher is waiting patiently in a foster home until his forever family finds him. Reacher is an absolute lover and cuddler, with lots of puppy still left in him. He does need some time to warm up to new people and may shake until he feels safe, but once he trusts you, his affectionate and gentle nature shines through. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives on companionship. He is fantastic with kids and truly enjoys being part of family life—jumping on the trampoline, playing in the hose, fetch, cuddling, dressing up, and simply being included. Reacher does well with other dogs of all sizes and loves to play. He has shown interest in hamsters and guinea pigs, but does not seem bothered by cats. Reacher is still learning proper leash manners, but walks well without pulling. He loves car rides and rides calmly with his seat belt on. This handsome guy currently weighs around 115 lbs, and while he is large and impressive, his heart is even bigger. We believe he is a Mastiff mix, possibly Cane Corso or Great Dane, and he carries himself with the gentle, affectionate demeanor these breeds are known for. Reacher is very smart and food motivated, especially when fruits and veggies are involved. He rings a bell to let you know when he wants to go outside—and when he’s ready to come back in. He knows basic commands, including “wait” before going out, and is known to mimic what he sees you do (opening doors, baby gates, snack cabinets, etc.). He is fully house trained. Reacher does have some separation anxiety, but it has improved greatly over time. He is not a fan of being kenneled, though it is actively being worked on, as being crate trained helps with transitions—especially when someone new enters the home. Reacher must be an indoor family member. He thrives on closeness, routine, and being part of his people’s daily lives, and would diminish in any other setting. His ideal home would also have a fenced in yard where he can wander and sniff freely. Rehoming Reacher has absolutely nothing to do with him—he is nearly perfect. He is simply looking for the loving, committed home he deserves.
