Story
At just 10 months old and already tipping the scales at around 130 pounds, this purebred Mastiff puppy is one big bundle of goofy love. Moose can be a little timid when meeting new people or exploring new places, but he has never shown any aggression. Give him a little time, and his sweet, silly personality quickly shines through. Moose loves playing with other dogs and would enjoy a home where he has room to stretch those long legs and continue building his confidence. If you're looking for a loyal, lovable gentle giant, Moose just might be your perfect match.

Story
Hi, I'm Freya! I'm a sweet mama and came with my 9 puppies. I'm a very good girl. I'm said to have had a few litters in the past and I'm ready to put motherhood behind me and have a little time for myself. Won't you spend it with me? If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You can also reserve an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have visits scheduled, so appointments help ensure I’ll be available. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, and we welcome adopters from any state. We have access to a transport to Aurora, CO. Other out of state adopters either travel to Missouri or arrange & pay for air transport. Virtual meet and greets are available on the appointment request. ##2755149##

Story
It breaks my heart to have to rehome my baby boy but the city is ordering me to rehome after he bit my neighbor over the fence. Oden will require a high fence as he is an extra large dog at 179lbs. Oden is a handsome, loveable dog but protective. He does not do well with small animals or fowl. Currently he lives with myself and my 5 year old, whom he is deeply attached to. He will need some time to adjust. He also lives with my mom's small dog, a Rottweiler and a dog savvy cat that he considers family. I still recommend he goes to an experienced adopter and no small animals. I also would like to stay in contact with whoever adopts him.

Story
Moxie is a sweet Mastiff mix with a gentle heart who is looking for a family willing to give her a little time and patience as she settles into a new home. New people and unfamiliar situations can make her a bit nervous at first, but once she feels comfortable, her loving personality begins to shine. This lovely girl is the kind of dog who forms strong bonds with her people and will reward your patience with loyalty, affection, and companionship. Moxie has also done well with other laid-back dogs and may enjoy having a calm canine friend to help her feel at ease. She would likely thrive in a home that understands that some dogs just need a little extra time to adjust.

Story
TABITHA AND MARGO Meet our beautiful purebred Mastiff siblings, a bonded sister pair seeking a special forever home together. At 2½ years old, they are loyal, intelligent, affectionate, and true to the Mastiff breed in both devotion and protectiveness. They can be cautious with strangers at first, but once comfortable, they are loving and deeply loyal companions. Because of their size and guardian instincts, they need an experienced home with strong leadership, structure, and continued socialization. They would do best in a quiet home with few visitors, a very large securely fenced yard is a MUST, and no children under 16. They may do well with another large, gentle dog given proper introductions, but would probably do best with no other pets. To help ensure a successful transition, adopters will be required to attend one complimentary session with our trainer. These are truly lovely dogs looking for a calm, stable home committed to keeping this bonded pair together. Dogs have been professionally obedience trained, are potty trained, and very well mannered in the home.   The suggested adoption donation for both Tabitha and Margo is $750, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Adoptions for Tabitha and Margo are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that they can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.       Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2749147##
