Story
Hey my name is Truck! I am a handsome, goofy dog looking for an owner willing to give me everything I need to be the king of the world! I am a quick learner, and I love to eat all kinds of treats. I have been dog-social, though some dogs that are rambunctious can confuse or overwhelm me when I`m not sure what to do. I would enjoy meeting other dogs in the home for a doggie play date to make sure we`re a paw-some match! I have a lot of energy but also a lot of LOVE to give to you. I hope you come to meet me soon so I can show you how charming and sweet I am. Don`t miss out!

Story
Meet Maisy! Maisy is a 5-year-old Mastiff mix with a heart as big as her paws! She came to us as a stray from Sumpter, severely underweight and clearly having been through a lot. But oh, how far she's come! With time, love, and plenty of good meals, Maisy has transformed into a healthy, happy pup who's ready for her forever home. Despite her tough start, Maisy's outlook on life is nothing short of amazing. She's always wiggly with excitement to see people and has never met a stranger-she's as friendly and affectionate as they come. Her favorite things? Stuffy toys (even if they only last a few minutes), snacks (she's very food motivated), and simply hanging out with her humans. Maisy is still learning the ropes of home life, including potty training and basic manners, but her eagerness to please and strong bond with her people make her a great student. She's mellow by nature and prefers relaxed exploration in the yard over high-energy activities. While she hasn't quite figured out how to "play" just yet, we can tell she's curious and interested-and with time, she might just become a pro! She's currently unsure around other dogs but has done fine in calm playgroups, mostly keeping to herself. If you already have a dog at home, we're still happy to consider a meet-and-greet to see how they might get along. As for cats-we're not sure yet. Maisy would do best in a moderately active home, possibly with older kids and maybe a laid-back dog sibling. Most importantly, she needs a patient and loving family who can help her continue her journey from survivor to spoiled companion. If you're looking for a sweet, soulful, easygoing girl to share your heart and home with-Maisy might just be your perfect match. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Maisy, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea & tick prevention. Maisy is currently heartworm positive, and has begun her treatment as of 5/8/25. FMAR covers the full cost of heartworm treatment and works with Home Care Veterinary Services for the treatment. You're still encouraged to apply to adopt Maisy! We'll work closely with you to ensure her treatment continues smoothly and she gets everything she needs to thrive in her new home. Her treatment after adoption would continue through HCVS until successfully completed. Her adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care she has received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chompers – The Gentle Giant Ready for His Forever Home! Name: Chompers Breed: Olde English Mastiff Weight: A whopping 155 pounds Age: Born around September 2023 About Chompers: Chompers may be large in size, but his heart is even bigger! This friendly and outgoing giant is a bundle of love and joy, looking for a family that can handle his size and love his big heart. At just over a year old, Chompers has plenty of energy to burn, and he’s ready to spend his days playing, cuddling, and exploring with you. Chompers gets along wonderfully with other dogs and seems to thrive when he has furry friends to play with. Whether it’s chasing a ball or just lounging together, he’s all about companionship. Because of his size, he’d do best in a home with kids 13 years or older—he's just too big for younger ones to safely play with, but he’s gentle and loving with everyone he meets! Why Chompers? Loyal and Loving: This gentle giant will shower you with affection and loyalty. Playful: With his outgoing nature, Chompers is always up for fun and games—especially with other dogs! Big Heart: While he may be large, his heart is as soft as can be. He just wants to be part of the family. Perfect for Active Families: If you’re an active household looking for a big buddy to share adventures with, Chompers might just be the perfect fit! What Chompers Needs: Chompers is looking for a loving family that understands the needs of a large breed dog. His new home should have space for him to stretch his legs, play, and relax comfortably. He’s ready to learn all about his new home and will need some guidance as he continues to grow and mature. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and giant companion, Chompers is your guy. Come meet him and see what an amazing addition he’ll be to your family! Ready to make Chompers part of your pack? Don’t wait—contact us today to meet this sweet boy and see if you’re the right fit for his forever home! Story
He was left behind when his owners moved out. Very affectionate. He looks like a goofy, kind of floppy hound dog as he ambles around. He’s sweet and affectionate. Gets along with most dogs. He’s a little bossy with food especially with a timid dog. Feeding in a crate solves that. Loves his play time in the yard with two stout dogs. Great on a leash. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Tanner's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet the magnificent Miss Hetti. She is a playful, energy abundant Mastiff, and likely, boxer mix. She loves tummy rubs, fetch, and Benebone chew toys. Hetti thrives on multiple walks per day however can over heat quickly in higher temps. She is very strong and still learning manners with passing animals so an experienced handler and dog owner is a must. She loves greeting people but due to her size and still puppy behaviors, a house with kids over 12 is preferred. For Hetti to live her best life she should be a solo canine with a large fenced yard and an active owner willing to give her the exercise and attention she needs. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 22, 2025, 10:07 pm
