What a big, handsome lug! Parker is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 61 pounds. Meet Parker, an affectionate young boy who is looking for his forever home. He is such a big dufus at heart, just craving closeness and needs to be touching you while sitting next to you! Parker loves nothing more than to be by your side, leaning in softly for a pat or a cuddle. With a gentle mouth, he is always careful with a soft mouth relinquish of his toys and easily gives up his raw hide. Parker is a smart boy who is very attentive to his handler and thrives with guidance, structure, and leadership. He does use his full body to interact and could use a basic manners refresher, he has tons of potential and is just waiting for the right family to unlock it. A yard for him to run off his energy would be perfect! He will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
