Story
Meet Franny! This girl was found as a stray outside a business in Fort Worth in horrible condition. She is severely underweight, has worn and broken teeth, and very large pressure callouses. All indicators that this girl has been wandering and neglected for some time. When no owner was located and no ID tags or microchip, she came into GPMR. Franny is definitely a senior, but her exact age is unknown. Amazingly, she tested negative for heartworms. She did have intestinal parasites, which we have treated. Once she's healthy enough, she'll go in to have her teeth addressed and see if any of them are problematic enough to be removed. We'll post more as we get to know her personality! Franny is being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK PLEASE NOTE: GPMR communicates primarily by email. If you have any questions regarding one of our Mastiffs, please read their bio and if you still have questions - drop us an email at GPMastiffRescue@gmail.com. We answer email inquiries daily. GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs. GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado. !!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!!

Not good with cats,
Story
New Kid is estimated to be 3-4 years old. He was found wandering as a stray near OKC and was being cared for by residents of a neighborhood where he was suspected of being dumped there. He was in the area for several weeks when they contacted GPMR for assistance. New Kid is well-behaved; he doesn't jump up on people, doesn't counter-surf, and knows basic commands. New Kid was adopted but is being rehomed because he's not getting along with the cat in the home and has gotten into scuffles with the older resident dog. We are looking for a home for New Kid, where he is the only pet. He generally does OK with other animals, but if there's any food around (or even something he thinks is food), his street dog instincts kick in, and this is where his issues with other animals occur. He is wonderful with people, but due to the food issue, we feel he'd be better in a home with no small children. New Kid is healthy; the only thing he has seen the vet for is his glands needing to be expressed, so that will be a regular visit every 1-2 months. Overall, he does great at the vet, but he doesn't like having his nails trimmed (like most Mastiffs!) He's heartworm negative and has been on monthly prevention. NEW KID would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. He has some separation anxiety, but he is crate trained, and that is best to keep him from chewing things he's not supposed to. He also has storm anxiety, and meds help with this a lot. He is such a sweet boy, and looking for an owner who won't mind a velcro Mastiff. He loves being doted on and will be your best bud! Story
Meet Luna! Luna is a beautiful 7-year-old apricot Mastiff girl being fostered in Texas. At 131140 pounds, she is a gentle senior lady with a calm, easygoing personality and a heart that bonds quickly to her people. Luna prefers the comforts of indoor life and is happiest staying close to her person. She enjoys car rides, back scratches, treats, and quiet companionship. She is not much of a barker, walks well on leash, and even stays close when off leash. She also handled her first bath like a champ! Luna is currently fostered with another dog and tolerates him well, though she is still deciding how much she wants to be friends. She has not shown much interest in toys and would rather soak up affection from her people. She can be a little pushy with her head when asking for pets, so a home without very small children or unsteady adults may be best. Luna is still working on potty training and basic commands, but she is making progress. Her foster suspects she may not have always been treated kindly, as she sometimes ducks or shies away when someone reaches over her head. With patience, kindness, and a soft place to land, Luna is ready to continue learning that hands bring love. Luna is a sweet, loyal girl looking for a calm home where she can be loved, reassured, and treasured through her golden years. PLEASE NOTE: GPMR communicates primarily by email.
