Cleo came to us from the Austin Animal Center after being rescued as a stray puppy. She’s a sweet, loyal dog who forms strong bonds with her people and loves being close to those she trusts. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys toys, bones, bully sticks, and long naps. She love playing with other dogs. She likes car rides and baths.Cleo does best in a calm, quiet home with adults, as children are too unpredictable for her quick-to-startle nature (we have a child). She is wary around unfamiliar people and needs slow introductions. She can be anxious in loud environments and in unfamiliar situations. However, with patience, guidance, and time to build confidence, she warms up and relaxes. She enjoys having a routine and has no history of aggression or biting.Cleo is looking for an experienced adopter who can provide structure, training, and a predictable environment where she can continue to thrive. In the right home, she’ll be a loyal and loving companion.

Meet Neko 🤍 Sometimes life deals you an unfortunate hand — but I pulled through like a champ and now I’m ready for my new home. I’m Neko, a 3-year-old Mastiff/Akita mix with a gentle soul and a big heart. I recently finished treatment for heartworms and did an amazing job resting and healing. Now that I’m feeling better, I’m ready to get back to enjoying life. I’m potty trained, independent, and love being around my people. I’m also a big fan of other dogs, which is why I sometimes get excited when I see them — I just really want to go say hi! When I’m feeling my best, I love long walks (2+ miles) and exploring the world with my person. I was previously living with a family, and now I’m looking for a fresh start with someone who will love me as much as I’ll love them.
