Story
I adopted Barkley 12 years ago and he has been an amazing dog since then. Currently we have a young toddler and he has not gotten the required doxie attention since the toddler was born. He loves cuddles and will spend all day on the couch with you! He also loves treats and sleeping under a warm toasty blanket. He would do best in a home with someone who can give him lots of attention (he does fine alone during the workday!) and snuggles.

These pups are in Marietta, Georgia too!

Story
Midnight ended up at animal control after his owners abandoned him at a clinic. He was held for a while but with so many dogs he ended up on the euthanasia list. Can you imagine? This little guy is a very nice dog with a great temperament. He loves to hang with his people way more than the other dogs at his foster home. He appears to prefer the company of the females in the foster home pack. His foster family believe he is mixed with corgi or other herding breed because he has a habit of jumping and mouthing to get attention. Midnight is not rally a vocal dog. But when he has something to say it is in a a "Big Dog" bark but the good news is he's not a huge barker unless he's excited about something. Midnight sleeps quietly in a crate like a gentleman. Midnight is completely potty trained. He no longer takes any medicine for anything but when he did he took it like a champ. He loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you to throw again. He loves to go for loooooooong leash walks. He needs a home with people that will dedicate time to his daily walks. This guy absolutely loves to explore the back yard and will definitely need a fenced yard. He is working on waiting but still is a BIG Door Darter. He is very excited to GO, GO, GOI! A home with adults and everyone over 16yrs is needed so he doesn’t sneak out past a kiddo. ✅ Sweet guy ✅ loves to walk & play with toys ✅ crate trained 🚫 door dasher so no young kiddos ✅ housetrained ✅ smart and eager to learn If you are interested in adopting Midnight, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Midnight's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Midnight will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
Twinkle is a zesty little sprite of a dog weighing in at less than 8 pounds. She came from animal control after owner surrendering her and another dog. Twinkle is a zesty little sprite of a dog, under two years old and weighing in at less than 8 pounds! She was found as a stray and taken to animal control.  While settling into her foster home she had a seizure.  But after seeing our vets, we have found a dosage of keppra that has been effective for her and only costs around $15 a month partnered yearly bloodwork. Twinkle loves to play tug with her foster family and their dog and is affectionate towards people.  She isn't much of a barker and often seek ear scratches and belly rubs from her foster people.  Twinkle also likes to play with her foster family's cat and chase squirrels given the chance.  She can entertain herself outside by herself in her foster family's fenced-in yard, but can be anxious alone indoors without a person or another dog.  She would do well with a guardian who can work from home and/or has another dog to keep her company when alone.  Twinkle is potty-trained and does very well travelling in the car. If you are interested in adopting Twinkle, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Twinkle's adoption fee is $700. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Story
I'm Sprout, and I am a snuggle bug, big fan of the stuffy toy fetch game, and a devoted fan of the show Slow Horses. I am 110% dachshund. I have it ALL -- everything you've heard about dachshunds? I've got it. Snuggly? Check. Food motivated? Yup. Nosy up in all your business? Oh yeah. Demanding of attention? See "nosy." Burrow under blankies? All the time. Funny? SO FUNNY. Sweet kisses? I got 'em. Prey drive? Oh yeah. Show me the squirrel. And if you have a shed, I will get under it to hunt. . I'm 9 pounds of love and pure nerve. I love my people and I love my doggie friends. I'm a big fan of the couch cuddle -- with both people and doggies -- and of the doggie wrestling. I LOVE playing fetch and I love hangout time. Adults and kiddos over 10 only please. I had a disc rupture (darn dachshund genes) but I walk almost normally now. I can run and play but I cannot do stairs. (I can climb a ramp.) I have pretty good control of my bladder but if you give me a little extra squeeze when we go outside (foster mom will teach you), I don't leak in the house unless I get too full. If you keep me on a schedule, I do just fine. I have done physical therapy to improve my core strength. PILATES, anyone? I sometimes do not realize I am pooping, but most of the time I do well. I am a delight to be around and a real charmer. When someone new comes to the house, I will bark, but as soon as they pay the "Sprout Tax" (treats), we can be besties and I will want to be in their lap. I am protective, like most dachshunds -- someone has to do it! If you are interested in adopting Sprout, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Sprout's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds.
