Story
Delilah is a 2-year-old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix and weighs about 13 pounds. She is one of the sweetest, most affectionate little dogs you will ever meet. She loves everyone: kids (as long as they're over 5, as should could accidentally knock over a small child since she's still young herself!), adults, big dogs, and little dogs. She absolutely loves being close to her people.
Delilah is gentle, social, and not aggressive in any way. She desperately wants dog friends and would do best in a home with another playful dog who enjoys romping, wrestling, and playing. She has been trying very hard to convince the dogs in her current foster home to play with her, but they are more interested in retirement life than playtime.
This girl is a total lovebug. Delilah wants to be your shadow, your couch buddy, your chest warmer, and possibly your hat if you let her climb close enough. She loves to be held, loves to snuggle, and is happiest when she is near her people.
Delilah has been doing well with going potty outside, though she will need patience as she learns a new routine. She is not a big barker, but she may let you know when she wants to be with you or when someone new is arriving. Once she meets people, she is all love.
Because Delilah has recently been surviving as a little street dog, safety is extremely important for her. She is smart, quick, curious, and very aware of her surroundings. She should always be leashed when outside, even in a fenced yard, and will need a family committed to keeping her secure. A fenced yard would be ideal, but it does not replace leash safety or close supervision. Delilah can jump, scan for openings, and may try to slip through a door if given the chance, so her new home will need to be extra careful with doors, gates, and outdoor time.
Delilah could use a few extra pounds, but otherwise she is a happy, loving, playful little dog who just wants friends, toys, kids to love, and people who will keep her safe.
