I haven’t been around kids yet to know how I would do with them. I am house trained and crated trained and even know how to walk on a leash and I ride great in the car. I am just happy to be with my person really. I do a little dance when my person gets home from work to show them how happy I am to see them. I wasn’t given a lot of experiences in my life like going to the park and meeting other dogs in public, but after doing new things 2 or 3 times I settle right in. I am very adaptable in that way. Even though I get along with dogs, I don’t like it when they get in my face, so if you have a dog already, hopefully it is on the “chiller” side. Some of my favorite things are: following my person around like a shadow, sun bathing and rolling around on my back in the grass. I am currently in the process of losing weight and getting in shape, so I will need a family who is willing to commit to my weight loss journey.I cannot wait to find my very own family who will give me all the love and attention and exercise that I deserve. We don't know what his life has been like to this point.  He is a sweet boy who was only able to trust his handler and became "clingy" once he did.  Odie is very affectionate & is starting to come out of his shell. He is housebroken, crate trained with no barking, walks on a leash & has learned sit, stay, down, wait & leave it so far. That's a lot for such a withdrawn little fellah to learn in six weeks, so he's shown he is willing to learn, eager to please & a pretty smart guy! He doesn't particularly like other dogs & has trouble interacting with them. He would probably NOT be a good fit in a home with children!! Odie is very protective of his environment & the people in it, so he will bark if strangers intrude. Once he's met someone & knows he isn't in danger he is a very affectionate boy. He needs to learn how to trust people, play with toys & just be a confident, happy boy. If you have it in your heart to give him some time, patience & love, you could help this lil guy blossom into a great pet! It does seem Odie loves women and is very clingy and prefers them over a man.  * Note: Odie is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Parker and his sister Cassie had a rough start to life before coming to DASH, so he's a little shy until he trusts you. He is currently in our Dash Prison Training Program where he will be learning basic commands, confidence building and becoming more social, especially with men. He does best with women since men are a little scary to him still, but he is learning they're not all bad. His trainer says Parker does better one on one than he does in more active, crowded environments, so this is a consideration. He is still working on being fully housebroken but was doing great and using the pee pads in his foster home.
