Story
Meet Auggie – He is a spirited, 7 month old herding mix weighing in at 17 pounds of pure personality. He’s fully house and crate-trained, and he’s been working hard on his basic manners—he already knows “sit,” “down,” and “paw.” This little guy thrives with a patient person who can give him some time to decompress and build trust. Slow introductions to new people are a must, but once you’re “his person,” he’ll be your constant shadow—and might even share his prized toys with you. Auggie has plenty of energy and loves outdoor play, especially chasing his oversized tennis ball or engaging in a good game of tug-of-war. Because of his high energy level, he’s not a great fit for apartment living. He can also be a bit particular about his belongings, so we recommend a home with no children. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love, laughter, and fetch sessions, Auggie just might be your perfect match!

Story
AVAILABLE THROUGH APPLICATION ONLY Father Christmas was found as a stray and never reclaimed, and he’s now ready to find a home of his own. He is a people-loving boy with a big personality and plenty of opinions to share! An expert-level snuggle bug, Father Christmas truly thrives on companionship and loves being close to his people whenever possible. He can be quite vocal, especially when he’s unhappy or doesn’t want to be left alone, and he prefers gentle, respectful handling—he’s not a fan of being poked, whether by fingers or needles. He walks well on a leash, is treat motivated, and knows “sit.” Father Christmas is also great at letting his people know when he needs to go potty and is happiest when he can come right back inside afterward to be near his humans. In a home setting, Father Christmas has shown himself to be wonderfully polite with other animals. He gets along well with dogs and cats and respectfully backs off when a nervous cat hisses at him. He’s content peacefully sharing space on the bed with other dogs and even a cat who enjoys canine company. While he doesn’t love being crated, he does see it as his personal space. During the day, he’ll occasionally retreat to his “room” (with the door open), usually after rearranging the blankets just the way he likes them. At night, he may protest being crated for a few minutes with some dramatic—but not loud—complaints. With reassurance and consistency, he settles quickly and sleeps through the night until morning. Affectionate, expressive, and eager to be included in daily life, Father Christmas would do best in a home that appreciates an interactive dog who wants to be close to his people and may struggle with being left alone. Father Christmas is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. He has received his DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations; adopters will need to complete his care by obtaining his rabies vaccination.

Story
Meet Bentley! Bentley is a 12-year-old Min Pin mix who came to us nearly three years ago with a badly broken leg. Despite a complex surgery, an infection meant his leg had to be removed—but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Once he was finally pain-free, Bentley’s whole personality blossomed! This little gentleman isn’t your typical small-breed pup. He’s incredibly well-rounded and adores humans of all ages—he recently lit up with joy when two small children helped at his photo shoot. Bentley is crate trained (though he prefers using it as a cozy retreat with the door open) and does well with his potty habits when taken outside regularly. In his foster home, Bentley lives peacefully with multiple dogs and happily does his own thing when he needs quiet time. He rarely barks—except when he’s politely requesting dinner or a cuddle.Bentley may be a senior, but he’ll surprise you with his charm, resilience, and loving personality. Senior dogs like Bentley deserve a second chance at love—could it be with you?To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step.
