Jingle came into our program as a breeder release, a young adult with a long life ahead of her. When Jingle arrived in her foster home, she was quite reserved. She was confused, she wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not. She was very timid & scared. Boy, has she really changed, she has flourished & bloomed! Once so scared, she willingly goes to her foster mom & seeks companionship & cuddles from her. She will do best in a calm, low activity home. A home that is willing to patiently allow her to adjust & get used to her forever environment. Going into a new home will be another change for Jingle, but she is very brave & we know that she will successfully make the transition if given a chance. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings, we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, she likes to play with them very gently, no rough housing. In her foster home, she has proven to be 100% house trained. We are so proud of her. With that said, her new family must understand she could have a few accidents until she gets her new routine down. Please be prepared to give her ample opportunity for success, praise her when she does it right, & be patient with her. We have given Jingle space to decompress & get used to being a pet. We have not pushed the issue of leash training. We do not know if that is something she would enjoy in the future or not. Therefore, for her safety (& for her to be able to do her potty business immediately upon adoption), a secure physical fence yard is required. An aluminum or slat type of fencing will need a gap filler around the bottom half so she can't get through, something like galvanized wire mesh or another sturdy material. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a big yard. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. Jingle is the type of dog that becomes your BFF. Your movie-watching, couch lounging, hanging out, reliable friend. We look forward to matching Jingle with her forever family soon!

Story
Had a Cancerous Tumor removed on 12-29 and results from xray & ultrasound shows no cancer remaining!  He's NOW ready for his family! Meet PUGSLEY !  a 12 yr old, 9 lb, Miniature Poodle, a HAPPY LITTLE GUY! He's looking for a family that is home a lot to let him outside and a family who will give him the BEST YEARS OF HIS LIFE! Pugsley will stare at you when he needs to potty outside. If you miss the staring, he will use potty pads too. He gets along with other dogs his size. Pretty much laid back and stays to himself. His back legs are weak so no steps and sometimes eats from dish laying down. Pugsley is missing all his teeth but still eats kibble. He sleeps most of the day but when awake, he's such a happy guy! He has cloudy eyes but still sees ok  but at night we use a flashlight to help him see his way back to door. He will get excited and cry/bark for food when he's ready to eat!  And sometimes will do a little tap dancing, bouncing & spinning. Outside when it's nice, he will do small zoomies around the picnic table!   Pugsley will sit in your lap but you need to pick him up to help him up. At night, he snuggles up in a little dog bed on the floor. Anyone wanting a Little Senior Guy who just wants to be loved, Pugsley is your man!!   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Pugsley’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Mia is a 6-year-old mini poodle who came from a puppy mill where she was tossed aside when she was no longer making the mill any money. We are thrilled she made it out of that life and into rescue. Mia is excited to start a new journey and is looking for a patient person who will give her time to shine. Mia has made so much progress since coming into rescue. She is an excellent snuggle buddy, does well going on walks, is a great car rider, and is making good progress with her potty skills. Mia will do best in a calm household with adults only. At this time, she does seem a little more comfortable with females. Mia can be vocal at times, so apartment life is not be a good fit for her. A home with a secure fenced yard is preferred so she can safely explore. While another pup in the home is not necessary, Mia would be fine with another canine to help her learn to dog. She really is quite sweet and will make a wonderful little companion. Mia is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative, on heartworm preventative, had a dental, de-wormed, and microchipped. Mia’s adoption fee is $350.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process.
