**********Please read bio fully before responding. We appreciate your interest in one of our dogs and it would be very helpful when you respond if you share information about yourself(home/yard, work hours, other pets, kids, dog experience..) Also, we do have an application at sparrowdogs.com that we will need in order to proceed with the adoption. THANK YOU!!
Yes, he is one handsome little boy, and he really knows it! Micky is a man about town, a ladies man. Well, he thinks so. He loved the female dogs in his foster home, and they tolerate him, lol. Micky is doing OK with the other male dogs in the home, but we think that he would be happier in a home as the only male. In fact, he was adopted for a short time by a family that had another male dog. Micky was fine with him, but the other male was a senior dog and just was not happy with the new addition, lol. That is OK, we understand, the old guy rules! So, back came Micky, and we are enjoying his presence once again.
Micky was guessed to be 5 years old by a previous vet. But, when the adoptive family took him to their vet he thought he may be closer to 2 or 3. We will just say he is 3ish. He is a spunky guy, has a lot of energy and loves to play. We do have him in a belly band right now. Things are new to him and he wanted to mark in the house, the belly band helps with that. We think in a home without other male dogs will curb that need to mark, and we are working on frequent trips outside and reinforcing appropriate behaviors. He will do well with a family that understand that it can take a little patience and continued reinforcement to perfect his indoor training.
He is a happy go lucky little guy that will probably be best in an adult household, although he is a happy and outgoing little guy he should be fine with older kids. Micky, like many poodles, has had ear infections and has narrowing of the canal on his left side. That has been treated, but he may be more prone to infections on that side and need treatment in the future.
Micky is always happy, always ready for a snuggle and some attention, He would love to find a person or two to hang around with, enjoy some long walks, explore a neighborhood together, perhaps a farmers market, or two! His adoption fee is $350, please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
