Story
Hudson is an approximately 11 month old Goldendoodle mix (our best guess is Golden Retriever and Poodle, but we cannot guarantee breed since we do not know his parents). One thing we can guarantee is that this boy is full of fun, energy, and happiness. If fetch were a profession, Hudson would already be employee of the month. Throw the toy once and he is ready for round two immediately. The best part? He happily brings it right back and is always ready to keep the game going. He is playful, goofy, and absolutely loves being part of the action. Hudson is crate trained, great with other dogs, and does well with kids. Because he is still young, energetic, and on the larger side, we would recommend caution around very small children since his happy wiggles and excitement could accidentally knock them over. He is truly as sweet as can be and loves greeting everyone he meets with his whole-body wiggle. Hudson is an incredibly smart, active, and enthusiastic young dog who will thrive with a family prepared to meet both his PHYSICAL and MENTAL ENRICHMENT needs. He is not the type of dog that will be content lounging around all day with minimal activity. Hudson would do best in a home with space to run and play, and we would not recommend apartment living for him due to his HIGH ENERGY LEVEL. A bored young doodle can quickly become a mischievous one, so continued STRUCTURE, EXERCISE, AND ENGAGEMENT will be very important for his success. Hudson absolutely loves fetch and could happily spend hours a day chasing a ball and bringing it right back for another throw. He is also a full-body wiggle machine when excited and is still learning his manners and boundaries, so ongoing TRAINING AND CONSISTENCY will help him continue growing into the wonderful companion we know he can be. Hudson would thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, playtime, and having a fun-loving companion by their side. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventions. Now he is ready to find a forever family to keep up with all his adventures. Local adoption fee (Texas): $350 Out-of-state adoption fee: $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Rupert! You won’t find a happier boy. Rupert is new to our rescue and settling into his foster home, where he’s being loved and observed.Personality: Social butterfly who wants to be everyone’s friend. He’s great with people (male and female) and does well with other dogs. We would love to find him a home with another dog that is willing to play with him as he is very playful/loving.Leash manners: Walks on leash well but he likes to inspect all areas. We would prefer that he has a fenced-in yard even though he walks on leash because he loves running in the yard; it is not required.House training: Off to a strong start—only one accident so far and he seems to understand that outside is the place to go. He was just neutered, which should continue to help.Crate/Kennel: Sleeps quietly through the night without a peep. When you leave the house, he may bark briefly in his kennel and then settles down.Cats/kids: Unknown at this time; we’ll update as we learn more.Rupert is still new to foster care, so we’ll share more about his quirks and favorites as we get to know him better. If you’re looking for a cheerful companion who loves making friends, Rupert might be your match—apply to meet him!It is important to know that Rupert has luxating patella in both back kneecaps. AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport will perform the surgery needed to resolve his issue so that he can continue to be the bouncy boy he is.

Story
HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Came from a situation where she did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age; has been making tons of progress in her foster home but may still struggle with new situations - Still quite shy, although she really wants to connect and make friends; looking for a patient person who will give her lots of time to settle in and form a relationship with them - it will take time, but it will be so rewarding to gain her trust and watch her confidence grow - A TOTAL goofball when the lights go out; her foster family said they've watched her on their camera as she prances around, explores and plays with their other dogs - Loves yard time and may enjoy a fenced yard, especially as she continues getting more comfortable with a leash - Foster family said for potty training, she is good about going outside about 75% of the time and otherwise goes on her potty pads - Has done well when her foster family is gone and they said she would likely do well in either an apartment or house setting - Loves exploring, eating any kind of treat and settling in her "nest" and observing - Overall does well in the car- Will do best in a home with more mature family members who will give her time to acclimate and help her continue to gain confidence - Has done best with a "helper" dog when it comes to learning that people can be OK and has been fantastic - playful and very respectful - with the dogs in her foster home; we recommend that she go to a home with another dog All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Weight: 13 Age: 3yrs 6mths 4wks
