Story
Meet Milo! Milo is a handsome and very active, 2-year-old Bichon Frise/Miniature Poodle mix weighing approximately 18 pounds. This happy-go-lucky boy was surrendered when his previous owner no longer had enough time for him, and now he's ready to find a family that can give him the love, attention, and active lifestyle he deserves. Milo is a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and making friends wherever he goes. He has a cheerful personality and a zest for life that makes him a joy to be around. He does well with other dogs but has barked at the cats in his foster home, so he may not be the best candidate for feline friends. This playful and energetic little guy enjoys staying active and would love a family that shares his enthusiasm for fun and adventure. He enjoys leash walks and is always ready to explore, although he can be enthusiastic enough to pull on the leash. Because of this, he'll benefit from someone that can handle his energy, continued training and a family that is willing to help reinforce good walking manners. Milo has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and has adjusted well to life in foster care. Like many young dogs, he can become excited and may jump up to greet people, so continued guidance and consistency will help him continue to mature into a well-mannered companion. He can actually jump vertically, very high, but has not attempted to clear a 4' fence, although he can jump to see over 4' high. Due to his tendency to take off if given the opportunity, Milo would do best with a securely fenced physical yard where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor time. He is not a good candidate for an invisible fence. He would also do best with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his playful nature and help set him up for success. He is also a tad too vocal at times for an apartment lifestyle.  As a Bichon Frise/Poodle mix, Milo will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and looking its best. Milo is searching for an active family that will include him in their daily adventures, continue helping him learn and grow, and most importantly, love him for the rest of his life. In return, he'll provide plenty of smiles, companionship, and unconditional love. If you're looking for a fun-loving, social companion with a big personality packed into a small package, Milo may be the perfect addition to your family! Story
Meet Bernie! If you've been searching for a cheerful little sidekick who's always ready for life's next adventure, Bernie may just be your perfect match! This handsome 2-year-old Bichon Frise and Miniature Poodle mix (our best guess) weighs in at a petite 11 pounds, making him the perfect size for everything from neighborhood strolls to cozy movie nights on the couch. Bernie entered our care as a stray with a microchip that unfortunately was never registered, and despite every effort to locate his family, no one ever came looking for him. Now he's ready to leave his past behind and find the forever home he has always deserved. Bernie is the kind of dog who seems to make friends wherever he goes. He has a sweet, happy-go-lucky personality and genuinely enjoys meeting new people. Whether you're introducing him to friends, taking him on an outing, or simply spending time together at home, Bernie is happiest when he's with his people. He also rides wonderfully in the car, making him an excellent companion for road trips, pup cups, or tagging along on your daily errands. In his foster home, Bernie has done well with other dogs and hasn't shown any concern around cats. He would likely do well with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a small dog. This fluffy little gentleman has also proven himself to be quite the well-mannered houseguest. He is crate trained, has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners, and enjoys getting out for walks where he can explore the neighborhood one sniff at a time. Like many Bichon Frise and Poodle mixes, Bernie will require regular professional grooming and routine coat maintenance at home. When he arrived, his coat had become quite overgrown and matted, so his future family should be prepared to keep up with regular brushing and grooming appointments to ensure he stays comfortable, healthy, and looking his very best. Bernie has left his stray days behind and is ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a family who will cherish him, spoil him just a little (okay... maybe a lot), and love him unconditionally. In return, he'll reward you with endless companionship, a happy little tail wag, and enough love to brighten even the toughest days. If you're ready to welcome this fluffy little gentleman into your heart and home, Bernie is ready to love you furever.: Bernie is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for grooming (included in the adoption fee)Scheduled for neuter at our partner Veterinary office (included in the adoption fee).ADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Meet Charlie! Age: 2 Years OldWeight: 10 lbsBreed: Yorkie/Miniature Poodle Mix Charlie is a happy-go-lucky little guy with a playful personality and plenty of love to give. This handsome 12-pound Yorkie/Poodle mix was surrendered when his owner was no longer able to care for him. While it was clear he was loved, Charlie arrived with an overgrown coat and nails that had gotten far too long, reminding us just how important regular grooming and routine care are for these fluffy companions. Despite the changes in his life, Charlie has remained upbeat, friendly, and eager to make new friends. He has done well with other active dogs, but does like to bark at the cats in his foster home. He enjoys being part of the action and likes to know what his people are up to at all times. Charlie would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his size and understand that small dogs sometimes need a little space when adjusting to new situations. He has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and settles nicely into a routine. Because he was recently neutered, his future family should be aware that he may initially mark in new environments while he continues adjusting and his hormones settle. Charlie is currently working on crate training and establishing a consistent routine in foster care. He is making good progress, but like many young dogs, he will benefit from patience and consistency as he continues learning expectations in his new home. When it comes to walks, Charlie is always ready for an adventure. He enjoys leash walks but has a tendency to pull when excitement gets the better of him. Continued leash training will help him become a more polished walking companion. He can also be a bit vocal when excited or when he feels it's his responsibility to alert his people to potential dangers, making him an excellent little neighborhood watch captain. As a Yorkie/Poodle mix, Charlie will require regular professional grooming throughout his life to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and free of painful mats. Charlie is not a good candidate for a tether or invisible fence and will do best with a family committed to providing safe, supervised outdoor time and plenty of companionship. If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion with a fun personality and a zest for life, Charlie may be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Meet Gigi! Gigi is a spunky, playful, and affectionate 10-pound Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle mix born on 5/9/23 who is finally discovering just how wonderful life can be. Rescued from a breeder that was shut down after years of breeding, Gigi spent the beginning of her life surrounded by numerous other small dogs with very little exposure to the outside world or the love and comforts of being a cherished family companion. Since entering foster care, Gigi has absolutely blossomed. With the people she knows and trusts, Gigi is confident, social, and full of personality. She loves being part of the family, happily seeks out attention, enjoys playtime, and isn't shy about showing off her silly, happy side. Her foster family has invested countless hours helping her build confidence through patience, consistency, and compassion, and it has been incredible to watch her transformation. While Gigi has made amazing progress, she can still be a little reserved when meeting unfamiliar people or entering new environments. She appreciates gentle introductions and a family that understands trust is built over time rather than expected immediately. Once she feels safe, her loving, loyal personality shines brightly. Gigi is looking for a quieter home with adults only or older, dog-savvy children who will continue nurturing the confidence she has worked so hard to gain. She thrives with routine, positive reinforcement, and a patient family that celebrates her continued growth. Having never learned to walk confidently on a leash before rescue, Gigi will REQUIRE a secure physical fenced yard for her safety. She is not a candidate for tethering or invisible fencing, and extra caution should always be taken outdoors as she continues gaining confidence in new experiences. Gigi enjoys the company of other small dogs and would likely appreciate a canine companion. She can be a little hesitant around larger dogs until she gets to know them. She also does not seem to mind cats. She has demonstrated an excellent understanding of house manners and has embraced the joys of being a beloved family member. As a Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle mix, Gigi will require regular grooming to keep her beautiful coat healthy, comfortable, and free from matting. Gigi's story is one of resilience, patience, and second chances. She has come so much farther than anyone could have imagined and is now ready to share her heart with a forever family. In return, they'll gain a loyal, playful, and loving companion who proves every day that even the most timid beginnings can lead to the happiest endings.
