Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please understand that we get many applications for our available dogs. We review each application and do our absolute best in choosing a home that best suits each dog and his/her needs and personality. Hi!  I’m Rose but my foster Mom also calls me Rosie, Rosie Posie, Rosemarie and other silly things. My favorite things are soft beds, yummy food, treats and other dogs.  I like being out in the yard in the sun sniffing things and exploring. I’m usually very quiet but if my siblings start barking I will follow along. I don’t like storms and really loud noises…..it makes me nervous. I didn’t have a very good start in life and remembering it makes me sad so Foster Mom will explain.   Rose was a puppy mill Mom who was being disposed of because she was not “useful”anymore. Most likely because she developed a mammary tumor. Our vet removed it with great margins and she remains cancer free. She was terrified of people (who can blame her) and she did not understand stairs or outside or grass. Her comfort was found in dogs and that is still her comfort space. Rose has made great progress while in foster care but she still has fears of people. She will willingly take a treat from my hand and sleeps in bed with me but prefers to be as far away as possible.  She has learned to go upstairs but still will not go down. Part of the hesitation could be because her front legs are slightly shorter than her back legs and I believe she is afraid she will fall forward but she does need more training steps and leash work.  The ideal home for Rose is someone who understands and is patient with her fears and has the time and patience to continue to work with her.  Another dog in the household would be great but not a must. While a fence would be great it’s not a must as long as the forever home understands that she must be kept in a secure harness and collar on leash while outside. And of course prior experience with puppy mill dogs is a plus.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 29, 2025, 4:52 pm

Story
Clancy is a loving and loyal dog. He will follow you from room to room. He has never gone too far when off the leash, and always comes back when called. He has never bitten anyone other than the occasional playful nibble. He will chase whatever is running or flying away. He loves to play fetch and will remind you to continue throwing the toy even when you’re done. He does tend to bark at anything. He is leash trained but doesn’t walk in a straight line. He is not fully house trained, he doesn’t let you know when he needs to go and is VERY sneaky about it. Clancy is a great dog! He has a lot of energy and loves attention! Unfortunately, I no longer have the resources to care for him properly. He deserves a home that can give him the attention he deserves! He comes with a crate, a toy box loaded with toys, a few sweaters, and an assortment of collars. Also available is a Crumb tag (if I can transfer the account).

Story
Meet Milo! Milo is a handsome and very active, 2-year-old Bichon Frise/Miniature Poodle mix weighing approximately 18 pounds. This happy-go-lucky boy was surrendered when his previous owner no longer had enough time for him, and now he's ready to find a family that can give him the love, attention, and active lifestyle he deserves. Milo is a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and making friends wherever he goes. He has a cheerful personality and a zest for life that makes him a joy to be around. He does well with other dogs but has barked at the cats in his foster home, so he may not be the best candidate for feline friends. This playful and energetic little guy enjoys staying active and would love a family that shares his enthusiasm for fun and adventure. He enjoys leash walks and is always ready to explore, although he can be enthusiastic enough to pull on the leash. Because of this, he'll benefit from someone that can handle his energy, continued training and a family that is willing to help reinforce good walking manners. Milo has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and has adjusted well to life in foster care. Like many young dogs, he can become excited and may jump up to greet people, so continued guidance and consistency will help him continue to mature into a well-mannered companion. He can actually jump vertically, very high, but has not attempted to clear a 4' fence, although he can jump to see over 4' high. Due to his tendency to take off if given the opportunity, Milo would do best with a securely fenced physical yard where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor time. He is not a good candidate for an invisible fence. He would also do best with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his playful nature and help set him up for success. He is also a tad too vocal at times for an apartment lifestyle.  As a Bichon Frise/Poodle mix, Milo will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and looking its best. Milo is searching for an active family that will include him in their daily adventures, continue helping him learn and grow, and most importantly, love him for the rest of his life. In return, he'll provide plenty of smiles, companionship, and unconditional love. If you're looking for a fun-loving, social companion with a big personality packed into a small package, Milo may be the perfect addition to your family! We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2767599##
