Say Hello to Nellie! This sweet, happy girl really loves attention – one of her favorite activities is to snuggle next to you while you rub her belly or her soft ears. Until recently, Nellie’s life was repeatedly being bred to produce babies.  Her life drastically changed when Nellie came to rescue.  She didn’t trust people, had never lived in a home & didn’t even know what a treat was.  Nellie has made tremendous progress, but sometimes loud noises or quick movements can still startle her.  She is a bit shy when meeting people but is curious, so slow introductions work best. Nellie is doing good on house and crate training - following a consistent schedule will be key in mastering these skills.  Nellie is working on the sit and down commands.  She also made up her own trick – spinning!  She just loves attention and treats so I’m sure she’ll enjoy training sessions.  Nellie lives with two small resident dogs and loves playing with them.  She also looks to them for guidance and confidence, so another dog in her forever home will help continue to show her the way. Nellie loves being outside – going for walks or just romping around outside.  She needs a fenced yard so she can run around off-leash, as well as take care of her business. Nellie has started playing with toys & food puzzles.  She’s even had the zoomies a couple times.  It is wonderful to see her playing and having fun! Nellie is looking for a loving forever family who will continue with her on her journey in her brand new world.  She can hardly wait - there are so many places to go, things to do & yummy things to eat!  Consistency and some patience may be required until she’s fully comfortable in her new home and also while continuing work on house & crate training. In return, Nellie promises to be a devoted best friend who will love you with all her heart, have fun with you & always make you smile. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Holly (darker colored) and Patsy (lighter colored) are a bonded pair. Their DNA test showed that they are a Pug/Poodle Mix! They weigh 12 and 15lbs. They are very sweet gals. They are quite affectionate with others and each other. We guess their birthday is somewhere around 7/2022 - 12/2022. They get along great with other dogs of all sizes. They even boss my 70lb Lab/Pittie mix around with ease. They haven't been around cats, but I believe they’d do fine.  They are very treat motivated. They are potty trained on a schedule. They greet me very excitedly each day when I get home.  They both love attention, snuggles and belly rubs. They are pretty active when they are outside and love to play and run in a fenced yard. They are escape artists so a secure 6’ fence is a must with these two or they will need to be on a tie out. They do play and get vocal at times inside. Walks are a work in progress for them. They tend to bark and react to squirrels and other dogs walking by but with some training and guidance, this should improve over time. When you settle down to watch a movie, they will too. They are great snugglers. When I work from home, they want to be near me, sometimes even in my lap. They spend weekdays in their kennels for about 8 hours. They do bark at first, shared walls will not be a good mix for these two talkers.  They prefer to sleep with their people.  It’s been a joy to having Patsy and Holly in our home and we know they will make a wonderful addition to any family they join who have the time to commit to 2 fun little pups.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
