Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Marion is a joyful and affectionate poodle mix with a goofy personality and a heart full of love. With her long, gangly legs and big paws, she sometimes doesn’t realize how much space she takes up—often reaching out to touch the people she loves just to stay connected. She’s an incredibly cuddly girl who enjoys curling up on laps and snuggling close at bedtime, happily sleeping beside her person through the night. This happy pup has a playful, energetic spirit and loves spending time outdoors. Whether she’s chasing balls, carrying sticks, or exploring the yard, Marion enjoys being active and soaking up the fresh air. She can catch a ball but doesn’t always remember to bring it back—she’s a bit more interested in the fun of the chase! A fenced yard would be ideal for her, as she truly enjoys having space to run and play. Marion is also very social and friendly. She’s curious and excited when meeting new people and dogs, sometimes greeting them with enthusiastic jumps that will improve with a little practice and training. She absolutely loves playing with the resident dog in her foster home, and the two spend hours wrestling, playing, and entertaining each other. Because of this, Marion would likely thrive in a home with another dog of similar size or a family with several people who can give her plenty of attention and companionship. She’s an intelligent girl who already knows a few basic commands like “sit,” “outside,” and “quiet,” and she clearly has the ability to learn more. Since she is very food motivated, training will be a great opportunity to build her skills and confidence. She walks on a leash with a harness but can pull when excited, so continued leash practice will help her improve. Marion loves toys—especially soft plush ones that she can happily chew apart to find the squeaker inside. She can also keep herself entertained with a stuffed Kong filled with peanut butter or puréed squash. When playtime is over, she’s just as content relaxing close to her people. This beautiful girl has soft, chocolate-brown hair and matching warm eyes. Her coat is easy to care for but will need regular grooming to keep it looking its best. She’s comfortable with routine care, happily letting her foster wipe her paws after walks and doing well during car rides. Marion is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys spending time both indoors and outside. Overall, she is a loving, playful, and intelligent dog who simply wants to be part of a family. In a stable home where she can get plenty of exercise, companionship, and cuddles, Marion will make a wonderful and devoted companion. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Daisy came to us on 10/4/2025 with her housemate Biscuit, after the death of their owner. The two girls could be related in some way as there were a lot of dogs in the home. Daisy kind of looks like a scruffy poodle/terrier type mix. She's approximately 3 years old and has now been fully vetted. She is part of a bonded pair with Biscuit and the fee for both of them is $250. We are truly hoping to adopt Daisy and Biscuit as a bonded pair as they have always been together and are attached to each other. They even reside in the same pen at our shelter. Both girls are pretty shy with new people, which is why it has taken us so long to get them up for adoption. They are playful and fun loving once they're comfortable with people. They will require patience and some basic training. They're looking for an adult only home. Teens are fine. They have had no exposure to cats.  FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.  We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 12:49 pm

Story
My name is Yoko. I came from Garland Texas under the hospice program. But after addressing his medical concerns, I am becoming a senior adoptable. A few words from his foster: Yoko is a senior dog that came from Texas in July. He is vision impaired, sweet and smart. He is housebroken and does well on a schedule. Mostly after he eats he needs to go out fairly soon after. He does get daily eye drops and can give some tips to give them easy. He is a good sleeper. He can go up the stairs with no problems, is best to be carried down stairs and he has learned to navigate his way around really well with very limited eye sight. A baby gate would be best to limit his space if you have stairs just to start and he would do fine with being kenneled when gone. He is turning into a happy little dog, who loves to snuggle and go for walks. He likes going on short walks. He loves to wander around and sniff everything. He really is a special dog, everyone that meets him just love him. He likes getting all the pets and attention but does like his own space especially when he is sleeping. He is just a sweet, mellow boy who gets along with both my dog and cat so no issues if there are other animals in the house. Medical Bio/From the Vet: We are so excited that Yoko is ready to find his forever home. He has been in rescue for a little over 1 year, and in that time we have been able to successfully manage his medical conditions. He had glaucoma in both eyes, one of which could not be successfully managed, so treatment was removal of the eye. His left eye is managed on two medicated eye drops. His hyperthyroidism is well managed on an oral medication called Levothyroxine. Bloodwork is recommended every 6 months while on this medication to account for any dose changes that may be needed. He has been started on 2 different anti-anxiety medications to help with some fear based reactivity. The estimated total cost of Yoko's medications would be approximately $50. We hope that we can find him a perfect spot to land to be spoiled and loved in his golden years!

Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
