Story
Please meet Mia, If I’m being honest, I don’t even really want to write her biography because that means she will be leaving soon. We have enjoyed having her in our house so much. Mia is a 9 year purebred poodle. Yes, you can absolutely find purebred dogs in a rescue! She is such a cool old lady. She is quite spry for her age. She is a bit of a sour patch kid, but nothing truly bad like biting or destructive behavior just attitude. She will tell you when she is displeased, and enjoys yelling at things to stay off her lawn! She is also house and crate trained. Mia is ok with other dogs. She would prefer a home with a calm older or dog or no dogs at all. She loves the company of humans over animals. We are working on how we address our cat friends, but she does chase cats. She is fully vetted, up to date on shots, and ready to find a loving home to treat her like the queen she already knows she is. Mia does have some allergies that caused her hair to fall out. The rescue has had a food sensitivity test done and the adopter will receive those results. She is currently receiving medications and medicated baths twice weekly. Her skin is looking much better than when she arrived!

Story
Me me me me meeeeeee!!!!!! What? Oh. My foster mom says that is NOT how to spell my name. It is spelled “MiMi" which sounds the same but who cares how it is spelled. I am a vintage model of a little poodle and I was a much loved member of the family at one time. Not to say that I am spoiled or anything but I know what I want when I want it! So it really is all about me! I adore being around my people and love being held. I will make little whimpering noises if you are there and I think I haven’t had enough lap time and look at you with my puppy dog eyes so that you feel guilty and pick me up where I want to be. I am a healthy 14 year old poodle who is scheduled for spay and teeth cleaning on Jan. 5th and then will be able to go to my new home after that. I use a potty pad when I am sleeping on the floor, but my foster mom puts a diaper on me when I sleep on your bed because I am not too keen about jumping off the bed. So when I have to potty, if I am on the bed, sometimes I will potty the bed. But the diaper takes care of that. I am a whopping 10 pounds and do walk pretty well of a leash as long as you don’t walk too fast. I am housebroken if you take me out on a schedule. Adoption fee in Texas is $200 Out of State fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $450.

Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

**Sweet Senior Alert — Meet Isabel!** This adorable 10-year-old, 20-pound mini poodle is the *ultimate* chill companion! Isabel loves sunshine, men, and lounging outdoors . She’s a gentle, independent girl who just wants love, snacks, and affection *on her terms.* If you’re looking for a low-key best friend, Isabel might be your perfect match! Isabel is a proud graduate of our board & train program — she’s house-trained and walks great on a leash! Her dream home is calm and patient, with a fenced yard for her sunbathing sessions and no small children. Here’s what we’ve learned about this special little lady: She’s almost completely blind and hard of hearing (so she bumps into things sometimes). Ignores cats and does fine with calm dogs — but rowdy pups can stress her out. Doesn’t like to be grabbed or surprised — she’ll come to *you* when she’s ready. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly sweet and loving (she definitely has her favorite people ).‍ Needs a peaceful, kid-free home that respects her boundaries. Has some mobility issues typical of her age and isn’t a fan of grooming — gentle handling is a must.Isabel may be a senior, but she’s full of love and personality — she just needs the right person to give her the safe, understanding home she deserves. **Apply to adopt:** https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption **Already approved?** Email us at **Russellrescuetn@gmail.com#AdoptDontShop #SeniorDogLove #PoodlePower #IsabelThePoodle #RescueDog #SeniorPoodle #AdoptASenio Sweet senior alert!
