Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Hi there! This is Crouton, a poodle mix, he is about 13 years old and weighs about 13 pounds, he showed up at animal control as a stray, unfortunately, his microchip did not lead to his family, he was very thin and not well.   He is getting to know his foster family but he follows his foster mom around the house and sitting next to her on the couch. He is deaf, but very alert, and watches everything going on around him.  He is not house trained, he needs to wear a belly band, but will do great on walks.  His meds causes him to need to urinate a lot, so it works best to have the use of the belly bands.  He sleeps thru the night, getting all the rest he needs.   He has been diagnosed with IBS, so that means he needs to be on a special diet.  He is on temporary meds until the IBS can be brought under control, it can be controlled with a good diet.   He does have a couple of growths that need to be removed, but the doctor does not think they are anything to worry about, so when that is done and he has gained some weight, he will be ready for adoption.   He does get along with the dogs in the foster home, but he will try to eat food that is not his, so it will be important to keep him separated at meal time.  Crouton is waiting Gainesville, FL for his forever family to take him home Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. We thank you for whatever you can help us with. Any donation is appreciated and is tax deductible, as allowed by law,  as we are a qualified non-profit 501(c)3 organization.    All our males are sent with BELLY BANDS!    for a one time Donation that goes direct to SCMR please go to our paypal link: November 20, 2025, 6:36 pm

Story
Angel is a 10 year old, 10 lb poodle female. She was surrendered by her owner who spent very little time at home and Angel was alone almost exclusively. Angel is very sweet with me as far as petting her or picking her up to go outside. She has a very bad aggressive reaction to trying to put a leash, collar or harness on her. For this reason we are seeking a home without young children. Angel is capable of bonding and loving a human. She is uncomfortable moving around other dogs but has shown some curiosity about some of her foster mates.angel keeps to herself in my bathroom. She has to be sedated for grooming. If thee is a compatible adopter who would be loving and patient and willing to indulge her quirkiness she is a sweet dog After reading this pet's info, if you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the online adoption application found at realgooddogrescue.com The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee:  $250.00   Benny   Benny's mama had cancer and passed. So he needs a new home. He's a loving white poodle boy in his senior years, maybe 8-9 and small at 10-12 pounds.    Benny has a skin condition we are working on. His hair was very thin from flea allergies but is now growing in well. He had 2 cysts that were drained, one on his tail and one behind his ear. The vet thought they might fill up and require draining again.    He is just a delightful little fellow! Loves to follow you around, loves to ride in the car and loves to walk on a leash and gets along well with other dogs. Pllus he's housetrained!    He's checking out his new world in Chattanooga, TN right now but is waiting for another person to call his own.
