Meet Hudson! 🐾 Hudson is a sweet, gentle, happy boy with a heart full of love to give and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. He adores long walks and proudly considers himself an expert squirrel tracker…always alert, never too serious about it. He shows his affection in the best ways: leaning in for love, soaking up belly rubs, and happily greeting everyone he meets. To Hudson, every stranger is just a future friend waiting to happen, and that includes kids! He absolutely loves children and is gentle and affectionate with them. He’s not much of a barker, making him an easygoing companion that gets along great with other dog-friendly dogs and even cats. Whether he’s out exploring or cuddled up enjoying attention, Hudson’s sweet, easygoing nature shines through. If you’re looking for a loving, family-friendly pup who will be your loyal walking buddy and cuddle partner, Hudson might just be your perfect match. 🐶💛 Hudson is heartworm positive and is currently taking meds regarding the slow kill heartworm method. This medication will go home with you if you adopt but you must be prepared to give him the everyday pill for 30 days.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Cora was surrendered to BARC animal shelter to be euthanized by her 'family'  They were BYB (breeders) who had no problem making money off her puppies but didn't have ANY money to get this little momma the medical care she needed after birthing puppies and presented with a prolapsed uterus. In true greeder fashion, they kept the puppies and threw mom in the trash. We immediately tagged/pulled her and drove her straight to our vet who graciously stayed late to perform her emergency spay.   Her life was save and her recovery is going well. Absolutely NO inground pools or stairs for this girl's forever home. She is totally house broken. She sleeps on our bed every night. She absolutely loves her twice daily walks thru the neighborhood. She is a little timid with men at first but warms up quickly. She loves to lay beside you in your chair and snuggle. She loves to play with toys especially lamb chops and tennis balls. She would make a great dog for an active senior who likes to go for walks but also enjoys some downtime to just quietly sit and watch tv and enjoy each others company       This girl was surrendered with her 'fur sister' Ava when their caregiver was moved into memory care.  She has been Ava's 'person' since losing their mom.  She gets along with children and loves women.  Men, not so much. She loves to snuggle with her person in bed, and sleeps through the night.
