You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Cora was surrendered to BARC animal shelter to be euthanized by her 'family'  They were BYB (breeders) who had no problem making money off her puppies but didn't have ANY money to get this little momma the medical care she needed after birthing puppies and presented with a prolapsed uterus. In true greeder fashion, they kept the puppies and threw mom in the trash. We immediately tagged/pulled her and drove her straight to our vet who graciously stayed late to perform her emergency spay.   Her life was save and her recovery is going well. Absolutely NO inground pools or stairs for this girl's forever home. Also, this boy is stubborn and not responsive to kissy invites to 'go outside'. Wrigley was surrendered by his family with a small 'tumor' on his back.  He had become 'bitey'.  (I would too, if allowed to suffer the pain of being MATTED TO THE SKIN!) We took him from the shelter and he went straight to our vet. It wasn't a tumor.  THEY were cysts.  He had 5 large cysts that had been allowed to grow unchecked.  He was badly matted and required sedation grooming.  While  he was under, he also got a badly needed dental!  All 5 cysts were removed and he is healing nicely. Wrigley is a bit of a loner, preferring to chill in a quiet room.  He gets along with other dogs, but does not seem to enjoy their company, he does not engage in play or other activities.  We believe he will do best with an experienced dog owner with no other dogs in the home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:08 am
