Story
Meet Mister Ruben Humphrey!Ruben Humphrey is a 6-year-old poodle and terrier mix weighing just 14 pounds, with soft white silky fur, a jaunty curly tail, and joyful energy. After coming to CAWS as a stray from a local shelter, Ruben has truly blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion who delights in his people and his daily adventures.Ruben Humphrey is the kind of dog who makes you feel special. When he sees his human, he lights up instantly, hopping with excitement and leaning in for cuddles and attention. Once he bonds, he becomes a devoted little shadow who wants nothing more than to be close to the person he loves. He is incredibly sweet, deeply affectionate, and happiest when he is near his people.Ruben Humphrey has bounldess enthusiasm and curiosity. Walks are one of his greatest joys. His happy zig-zag trot and enthusiastic pace bring a sense of fun to every outing, and makes even a short walk feel like an adventure worth savoring.Ruben Humphrey has made remarkable progress in his foster home, learning to trust, cohabitate with other dogs, and is learning that sharing toys, treats, and human affection are part of being in a pack. He's also spent two weeks at Poop Walk Train and loves his training (the trainers have a crush on him too). With consistent routines, clear boundaries, and calm support, he has improved tremendously and continues to grow every day. He's gaining confidence and learning good doggie manners. He will do best with an adopter who is happy to continue his training and helping him become the very bestest boy ever.He enjoys the company of other well-known dogs and plays happily with his foster siblings, both large and small. Ruben does best with dogs he knows and trusts, as he can get nervous and even feisty when he comes across a new, or overconfident dogs. He would love to join a canine sibling who is confident, patient, and friendly.New people can make Ruben Humphrey a little unsure at first, especially in his home, but he has shown great progress here as well. With gentle reassurance and a bit of patience, he settles quickly and is soon ready to show off his affectionate, charming personality. Once he feels safe, he connects deeply and wholeheartedly.Ruben Humphrey loves being near his people and is learning that his crate can be a cozy, secure place to relax. He has not been cat-tested yet other than cats he meets on his walks. If you are looking for a snuggly, devoted companion who has already done so much growing and is ready to keep building confidence in a loving home, Ruben Humphrey may be the perfect fit. To meet this delightful little canine, please fill out an application at www.caws.org/adoption-application.CAWS does not place animals on a first-come, first-served basis. Story
Meet Bobby, the curly-coated charmer who believes every friendship starts with a belly rub.Bobby is 2 years old and ready to show the world his playful, happy, and gloriously goofy self. He's the kind of dog who just needs a little support building confidence with new people, and once he has it, he becomes the happiest little shadow you could ask for. Curious, joyful, and always ready to love life and everyone in it.Bobby loves to play and would thrive in a home with a fun, confident canine companion who can help him stay calm during greetings and engage politely when it's time to play (his enthusiasm can be a bit much for older or smaller dogs). His signature move is skipping small talk entirely and going straight in for the full nose-to-bum hello. Once he's warmed up, he's all about playtime, snuggles, and being wherever his people are. This adorable boy has a long torso, short legs, and the curliest coat you've ever seen. He's discerning about treats (high value only, please) but belly rubs? Those are his love language, and he will never, ever turn one down.Bobby is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He's doggy-door trained and does well sleeping or playing in his pen, but he'd much rather be where the fun is. He's enthusiastic about life (and walks!), so he'll need continued leash training since the world is just very exciting and he wants to explore all of it. He may also need a belly band while he learns the routine in a new home.Bobby is great with older kids, calm and confident dogs, and truly wants to be part of a family. He just needs someone patient enough to channel all that wiggly energy, and once you do, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him. With the right foundation, this boy has serious adventure dog potential. To meet Bobby, please complete an adoption application at [caws.org/adoption-application](http://caws.org/adoption-application).Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We work to find the best match for each animal and each family. All CAWS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
