Story
Meet Sawyer!Sawyer is a 1 year, 4-month-old poodle mix weighing about 15 lbs, and he’s as sweet as they come. Despite starting life as a stray, this little guy LOVES his people and wants nothing more than to be close. If you’re looking for a snuggly companion who’d happily curl up in bed with you every night, Sawyer is your guy. He’s been socializing with other dogs at daycare and is making great progress with leash manners. While he can be a bit selective with larger dogs at first, Sawyer warms up quickly in neutral settings and is growing more comfortable every day.Sawyer is house-trained and thrives with a simple morning and evening walk routine. He’s a mostly quiet little love bug who’s learning his basic commands, starting to enjoy toys, and responds well when redirected from things he shouldn’t be chewing. He rides nicely in a car seat—though he’d much prefer your lap—and enjoys a balanced day of walks, playtime, and plenty of cozy downtime. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who will love you endlessly, Sawyer is ready to be your new best friend.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationApril 23, 2026, 7:28 am

Story
Meet Max Male DOB: April 21, 2024 Weight: 19 lbs Breed: Poodle Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Max is a joyful, loving little guy with a personality that lights up every room he walks into. At just about a year old, he’s in that perfect stage—still playful and full of life, but already showing what a wonderful companion he will be. He greets the world with a wagging tail, an open heart, and a happiness that is truly contagious. Personality Max is affectionate, friendly, and full of joy. He loves being around people and has a warm, happy energy that makes him easy to connect with. Whether he’s playing, cuddling, or simply following you from room to room, he just wants to be close. He brings a sense of lightness and love into a home—always reminding you to enjoy the moment. Breed Info As a Poodle mix, Max brings: High intelligence and strong trainability A loving, people-focused personality A low-shedding coat that requires regular grooming Poodle mixes are known for being adaptable, affectionate, and eager to please, making them wonderful companions for families and individuals alike. Ideal Home Max would do best in a home where he can be included as part of the family and receive attention, structure, and love. He will thrive with someone who enjoys an affectionate, interactive companion. Owner Responsibilities Bringing Max home means committing to his daily care, training, and long-term well-being. He will benefit from: Consistent training and positive reinforcement to build confidence and reinforce good behavior Ongoing socialization with people, environments, and experiences Routine grooming, including brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning, and professional grooming to maintain his coat Daily companionship, structure, and inclusion as part of the family Establishing care with your own veterinarian early on is essential to maintain his health and build a long-term care plan. Things to Consider Max is still a young dog and will need continued guidance, patience, and consistency as he matures. Rescue dogs may take time to adjust to a new environment. It’s important to allow him to settle at his own pace and not overwhelm him with too much too quickly. Adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment, requiring time, stability, and emotional investment. Max is looking for a home that is ready to provide that security and consistency. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home Understanding this transition period helps set Max up for success. Veterinary Care Max is fully vetted, but we strongly recommend establishing care with your veterinarian for: Routine wellness exams Vaccination maintenance Preventative care (flea, tick, heartworm) Dental care and overall health monitoring Consistent veterinary care is key to ensuring he stays healthy long-term. Important Note Max is an indoor family dog. He is not to be chained or left outside. Cracker Jack is a charming male poodle mix with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet boy is a tripod, but don’t let that fool you—he gets around beautifully and keeps up just fine with everyday adventures. His missing leg doesn’t slow his spirit one bit! He can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, but with gentle reassurance he warms up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, Cracker Jack shows his true colors as a people‑loving companion who absolutely adores his humans. He gets so excited to see the people he loves most, and he’ll happily sing you a little song and gently mouth your hands to let you know just how glad he is you’re there. Cracker Jack enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those similar in size, and would do well in a home with a compatible canine friend or as the beloved center of attention. He’s affectionate, expressive, and full of love to give to the lucky person or family who brings him home. If you’re looking for a unique, joyful companion who will greet you like the best part of his day—Cracker Jack is ready to steal your heart.
