Lukas is considered to be one of our special care adoptions due to having chronic ear infections, dental disease as well as having some hair loss noted around his skin, so it may require more frequent vet visits in the future. Winston has megaesophagus (an enlarged esophagus) which causes him to vomit or regurgitate food or water if he does not eat or drink upright in a specially made Bailey Chair. There are no surgical options available. Winston recently got aspiration pneumonia after a dental and neuter. He needs his water mixed with a thickener so he can swallow without throwing up. He gets Viagra (Sildenafil) an hour before he eats to help the food get past his esophagus & sphincter to his stomach. He also needs his teeth brushed daily since he's susceptible to aspiration pneumonia. We rescued him from a shelter right before he was going to be euthanized. At just 7 years old, Winston deserves the best care possible, and we’re doing everything we can to support him.
