Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Like his namesake at Hogwarts, Horace is a master of potions.....in this case the potion will make you fall totally under his spell. Just looking into those round brown eyes will make you fall madly in love with this fluffy, scruffy pup! Horace was released from a commercial breeder and is ready to begin the next, and best, chapter of his life! He is learning about toys, soft blankets, and fluffy dog beds, and oh, can we stress that he loves toys! He also loves his foster canine siblings and will require a resident playful dog in his forever home in addition to a securely fenced yard for his safety. The suggested adoption donation for Horace E Slughorn is a minimum of $700 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
Oscar is not a grouch, and he no longer eats from garbage cans!  He is now proudly a french fry connoisseur and smells like a flower! Meet Oscar, the 7 year old Schnauzer mix who came to a shelter as a stray, all matted and full of fleas and ticks. His hair will grow back, but he’s got his coat summer-ready. He’s fully vetted and ready to go home with a forever person or family with older dog-smart kids who can remember his hip may be sore. He still runs and plays like a champ, though! We are hoping with some anti inflammatories this will help take care of it but for now we avoid pets in that area. Oscar is not a puppy and as a senior, he has a few likes and dislikes.  He likes other dogs, men (and  women), soft beds, and people food  He’s doing well crate training and has had no accidents indoors since arriving a few days ago. People food....well, you know what's in the trash can that strays get but we're working on it!  He dislikes grooming, but will learn to love it if he’s handled correctly. So if you like flower fresh and super sweet, Oscar NOT a grouch is your guy. Please apply at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org DONATION ADOPTION FEE is $325.00 PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! May 14, 2024, 9:43 pm
