OAKLEY (SRC3215) OWNER PLACEMENT Animal species and breed(s) as they will appear on the adoption listings websites Petfinder Dog, Schnauzer/Schnauzer Pets 911 Dog, Schnauzer, Standard Adopt-a-Pet Dog, Standard Schnauzer Animal Details OWNER PLACEMENT//LIVES WITH OWNER AND THE OWNER WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE PLACEMENT ALONG WITH SCHNAUZER RESCUE. Oakley (SRC3215) is an 8-year-old, neutered Mini Schnauzer male weighing 21 pounds. Oakley is a salt and pepper male whose soulful eyes cause you to fall in love him at first sight! His current owners were fortunate enough to bring Oakley into their home as a precocious pup during 2017. As a puppy, he came from a breeder located in the state of Florida. Oakley quickly became their beloved family companion. Obviously, his human parents loved him because just look at his sweet face. In addition, he is great with humans and does well with other animals once the meet and greet has been established. Unfortunately Oakley’s loving parents have had serious changes in their schedule so they know they are no longer able to provide him with the consistent time, attention and structure which Oakley was used to. A heartbreaking decision was made to find Oakley a home with a family who are able to provide the loving care he deserves. In preparing to find Oakley a wonderful adoptive home, they have provided information about him which will help prospective adoptive parents to make a decision as to whether or not they are able to provide all Oakley has been used to and deserves. Temperament and Training · Oakley understands and responds to several commands which include: sit, lay down, leave it, stay, up (stands or onto something), cage/go to bed, back (to back up). He also responds to a whistle and will return to his human should he take off. Using short "cht" noises to do the opposite of what he is doing at the moment should you want him to stop. · He is crate trained and settles well once he adjusts. · He is housebroken, so he is currently accustomed to a routine of morning and evening potty breaks. Personality, Habits, and Preferences · Oakley is very friendly with other dogs, but he does get overly excited when meeting them. He could benefit from continued socialization. Despite this excitement, he is not aggressive and usually submits if another dog reacts negatively. · He loves going outside, being part of household activities, and enjoys attention from people (Will find your hand to give him pets). · He barks when confined too early in the evening or in the morning when ready to come out, which we believe comes from being cooped up during the day while his owners are at work. · He has not shown any aggression toward people or other pets. · Oakley enjoys chew toys, treats (Frozen, cheek roles, and Yak cheese are his favorite), and time outdoors. Prospective adopters should either work from home or be retired with energy enough to provide Oakley with lots of interaction, and playtime outside. He would benefit from an adoption where the home has a secure fenced yard although he should never be left alone in the yard. OAKLEY LIVES IN MONROE, NC AND YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO DRIVE TO THAT LOCATION IN ORDER TO PICK THE DOG UP THERE WHEN HE IS ADOPTED .

Story
My name is BENTLEY (SRC3604). I am almost 3 years old and weigh approximately 17 pounds but I am now on a diet to keep me healthy for a lifetime. I am a  neutered male Mini Schnauzer with Natural Ears and  Docked Tail.  I am a very handsome Blue Merle color.   I am microchipped, have all my vaccinations, am heart-worm negative and, been  neutered.  I will be evaluated for a minimum of 2 weeks by my foster mom who is located in MT. Pleasant, South Carolina. She says that I am an absolutely PERFECT dog. My Story Bentley came into SRC care recently and is being  prepared for adoption by a foster parent who has gone thru our approval process.   We at SRC just want him to have that loving home he deserves. His first family loved him very much, yet personal issues made it impossible for them to keep Bentley.  They love him enough to assure that Bentley goes to the best possible adoptive family and that is why they selected SRC to place him in that adoptive home where he will be loved and cared for the remainder of  his lifetime.    Bentley is used to having a fenced yard so it would be preferred that the adoptive family have a fenced yard.  Bentley sleeps in a crate at night and he will nap in an open crate  during the daytime.  Bentley is leash trained but could use more training with it, and  he is house broken.  Naturally like all Minis he is not very happy at having to go outside to potty in the rain and cold weather.  He will let you take a toy away from him, yet he thinks it is a game of tug of war, so be patient. Bentley gets along very well with other dogs but he has never been exposed to cats.  Bentley is very friendly and loves cuddle time.  He does well with car rides but it is not absolute that he enjoys them    When ready for adoption this dog will be heart-worm  tested (negative), de-wormed, vaccinations brought up to date, neutered if not done already, micro-chipped, examined  by a vet and any necessary medical issues found by this vet will be addressed. It is anticipated that this dog will be released for adoption by the same date as the completion of the Evaluation. The date of release of this dog is at the discretion of the SRC Core Team.    BENTLEY IS  BEING FOSTERED IN  MT. PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA AND YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO DRIVE TO THAT LOCATION IN ORDER TO PICK HIM UP THERE WHEN HE IS ADOPTED. Tax-deductible donation requested at time of adoption for this dog is $575   PLEASE READ PRIOR TO APPLYING When ready for adoption, this canine will have been evaluated for at least two weeks by loving SRC foster parents who will be able to give the adoptive parents  their opinion about the demeanor of the family companion  prior to the adoptive parents   finalizing   their adoption of this canine.  All our SRC volunteers strive to do this for the well-being of their rescued canine and to assure a successful adoption. It is our worthy mission to assure that each canine rescued by SRC is placed in a loving, stable and permanent home whose family members will treat it as a beloved member of their immediate family. We are prepared to assure that all of  our rescued dogs are in great homes or we will reclaim them if necessary. SRC’s rescued dogs are  placed in foster homes throughout NC, SC, TN, and VA until they are adopted. These same states are SRC's approved adoption areas so please do not apply unless you live in one of these states. You must be willing to drive to the dog's foster home in order to adopt the canine. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio. BEFORE meeting an SRC dog, you must be approved to adopt by our Placement Team. Our downloadable Adoption Application is on the Homepage of our Website where you may also find our Foster Application and Volunteer Application should you want to use these instead.  Here is the address of our Homepage for you:    @    https://schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org/      Once you have completed the application, please include your vet medical records along with photos of your home (interior and exterior including your yard) -- these may be used in lieu of a home visit due to the problems with issues since this disease has once again  disease has  emerged with some of our volunteers having diagnosed with this sickness very similar to the last pandemic.  Once again policy changes have been initiated for the protection of our applicants and for our volunteers while we are dealing with another sickness which has emerged and is very similar to that last diagnosis of  Covid-19.  Once again, when the virus has subsided to the point that people are not dying with this horrific virus, SRC will go back to our standard protocol with home visits being conducted. These will not be done until contagion is not an issue. SRC has had more than one volunteer diagnosed with Covid, therefore the revised documentation may be submitted via email and/or fax (1-910-401-1317). You may also request  an Adoption Application to email address: mcguirea493@gmail.com  Upon receipt of your application, your medical records, and photos of your home (interior and exterior), the entire file will be processed and reviewed by the Core Team which may take up to seven days, depending on your location and the number of applications being processed at that time. Satisfactory files will also be reviewed by foster parent.  Someone from the Core Team along with the Foster Parent will be in touch with you to ask any questions that might be outstanding and to answer any questions you may have.  At that point an adoption may be discussed and arranged. Please plan on welcoming your new dog into your home within two weeks after approval. We cannot hold dogs because this limits our intake of others in need; SRC adopts them out on a first-come, first-serve basis based on a completed approved adoption process. If you are unable to accept your adopted dog within this time frame then SRC will go to the next approval and place with someone able to give the rescue a home within the proper time frame. SRC does not ordinarily adopt its dogs to families with children under ten years of age. Exceptions are sometimes made on a case by case basis but only when the dog has been raised with children and the children are very respectful of animals.  This is for the protection of the dogs and for the protection of the children. Procedures will be explained to you at the time of approval regarding the necessary donation and the adoption contract. Your donation is made in honor of the adoption of your new family companion and is never a purchase of an animal.  This tax deductible donation goes forward to help incoming rescued dogs. Our average total expense per dog includes but is not limited to the list of  expenses shown below. Here is a break-down of the average expenses spent on SRC dogs to assure they remain healthy and happy as they are prepared for adoption: Office Visit $45-75; Fecal $14-45; Rabies $14-45; DHPP $14-45; Bordatella $14-45; Heart-worm, Lyme, Ehrliccia Testing $30-55; Heart-worm Preventative $70 per month; Spay or Neuter $300-$700; Total Basic Vetting $478- $765; ADDITIONAL VETTING: Teeth Cleaning/Dental $300 - $1550; Blood Panel $120 -$185; Cherry Eye $300-$700; Urinary Tract Infection $90-$450; Heart-worm Treatment $300-$1200; Luxating Patellas $1,800 per leg; Cruciate Surgery $1,200 per leg; Entropian Surgery $250-$500; Demodectic Mange $200 per month; X-Ray $80 - $120; Ultrasound: $550; Cataract Surgery $1800 - $3500; Boarding $450 per month per dog  SRC  wants to thank you for your interest in our rescued dogs. We put our heart and souls into saving their lives.  Often the medical expense, time and effort expended to help these dogs, far outweighs the minimal donation requested to adopt these innocent ones.  Please understand SRC is limited in the number of dogs in our safe haven and if you are not selected to adopt one of them, it is not a reflection on your ability to provide a good home for a canine, simply our lack of ability to provide for the overwhelming demand from applicants.  SRC urges you to pursue rescue -- it is definitely a worthy mission even if you do not adopt from SRC.  November 18, 2025, 12:58 pm

Story
My name is GEORGIA (SRC3600)  I was borne on July 1, 2021.  I weigh approximately 15 pounds. I am a white spayed Mini Schnauzer female with Natural Ears and  Docked Tail.  I am microchipped, have all my vaccinations, am heart-worm negative and, am  spayed .  I have been evaluated for a minimum of 2 weeks by my foster mom who is located in MT. Pleasant, South Carolina. I am such a sweetheart, and I love to cuddle.  My foster Mom brags on me for being so sweet. I have been around other Minis and do very well with them. Our Story  Georgia and her brother, Tucker, both came into SRC care recently and are being  prepared for adoption by a foster parent who has gone thru our approval process.   We at SRC just want them both to have that loving home they deserve.  Their first family loved us both very much yet personal issues made it impossible for her family to keep Georgia and Tucker. Georgia has a sibling named Tucker who is also available for adoption.  They may be adopted together as they are bonded, or they could be adopted together.  It is important that they be adopted together so SRC will discount their tax deductible donation if they are adopted together. They loved Georgia and Tucker enough to assure that they went to the best possible adoptive family and that is why they selected SRC to place them both in an adoptive home where they will be loved and cared for the remainder of her lifetime.    Georgia and Tucker are used to having a fenced yard so it would be preferred that her adoptive family has a fenced yard.  This Minis is used to sleeping in a crate, and until recently Georgia was used to sleeping in an extra large crate with her brother, Tucker.  They are leash trained and house broken.  Naturally like all Minis they are not very happy at having to go outside to potty in the rain and cold weather.  She has learned to sit on command Georgia gets along very well with other dogs but she has never been exposed to cats. Both Minis are very friendly and LOVE cuddle time.  They enjoys car rides yet Georgia loves to tell you in her own way about things that happen  on the trip. All you have to do is translate "bark- bark".   When ready for adoption these dogs will be heart-worm  tested (negative), de-wormed, vaccinations brought up to date,  spayed / neutered if not done already, micro-chipped, examined  by a vet and any necessary medical issues found by this vet will be addressed.

SRC is advised that Clifford gets along well with other dogs his size, yet apparently he is too much for small dogs. Clifford had no reaction to cats .  He  has been very friendly thus far with humans. He is said to be about 2 years old, and has been neutered along with receiving vaccines. Clifford was taken in by a foster parent from  Jasper Animal Rescue Mission in Ridgeland, SC.  SRC wants to make him as visible as possible and is doing a cross-post for them.   The woman who rescued Clifford says that his personality easy to love!  It is obvious that Clifford is mostly Giant Schnauzer and the other side of the family is probably Terrier.     THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED AT: Ridgeland, SC THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS:______ Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 5 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing).  The owner of this Schnauzer will review all approved applications and documentation that SRC sends to them.  They will contact you to ask questions and to answer any questions you may have.  At that point if a meet and greet has been scheduled, an adoption contract will be sent to you which you must sign and return to SRC.  If the meet and greet goes well, your donation of $       (tax deductible)  may be made online so that the release of the Schnauzer may happen.  SRC will notify the owner of this Schnauzer when the donation is completed so that they may release the Schnauzer to their new adoptive home.  SRC will register his/her micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge.November 18, 2025, 1:04 am

Story
OWNER PLACEMENT ASSISTED BY SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS Finnegan (SRC3255OP) called Finn for short  is a Schnauzer- Terrier mix who has been with his current owner for two ( 2) years  She adopted him from a local shelter and although she is no longer able to provide Finn( with the type of  home that he should have, she does want to assure that he goes to a loving home where he will be incredibly happy. This affectionate boy is now nine ( 9) years old and weighs thirty-nine ( 39) pounds. Because he is part Schnauzer, Finn is a smart, sweet boy who is potty trained, knows numerous commands, does well on the leash and loves going on  walks. Finn really likes to cuddle and to go for rides in the car, so he is an exceptionally good traveler. When Finn is  left alone at home, he is well behaved and does not bother anything. Finn  is medium to high energy, so he requires daily  walks. This precious canine maintains  a good temperament  and really enjoys pleasing his human companion.  Finnegan  has no health issues and is up to date on his immunizations. His owner will provide a copy of his immunizations when he is adopted. Finn prefers female humans, and it takes him longer to warm up to male human still  he will warm up to men who have a gentle personality. His owner was not given proof of this still she believes that Finn has a  history of being abused since he will flinch if you touch him without letting him know first and that might be why he prefers women to men.  The owner believes that it was a man that abused him since Finn warms to women much more quickly than to men. Finn will naturally warm up to men after he is allowed to spend time with them, and eventually he will even snuggle with men also. Finn is  alright with older children. Since SRC has a firm  policy not to adopt to families with children who are under the age of ten  (10)  years old, Finn’s adoptive family must not have children younger than ten ( 10) years of age. Finn loves going to doggy day care and enjoys it quite a bit. He doesn’t do as well with canines on a one-on-one basis so a meet and greet would be necessary to ensure that both canines do well together  When his current human companion adopted Finn,  he was being fostered along with an older dog, and they got along very well.  Finn has not been around cats so it is not certain how he would do around felines. It would be best if he was not placed in a home that had felines . During the two (2) years that this human companion has had him with her, Finn has made tremendous progress with his training and obedience. It suits Finn very well to have a stable environment and a routine which he can depend on   He genuinely  adores  cuddling  and will return this affection abundantly.  His current human companion is having health issues, or she would never consider placing him in another home.  She loves Finn  enough to assure him the stability and constant affection that she is currently unable to provide him  with. This is making it difficult  for her  to walk him and provide  him with the time and energy which Finn needs to receive proper care. She loves him enough to ensure that he receives that care even though this means she must find him another loving home. Finn has so much love to give so he deserves a human companion who can give him the love and care he should always have! His human companion wants to make certain that  he goes to a loving home although this is an extremely hard decision for her. Finn has an abundance of love to give! His current human companion will provide his new adoptive family with information about all his needs and desires.  She will answer any questions that his new family may want to know so that they may be most comfortable welcoming him to his new home. Please provide a completed application, recent vet records if there are any, and photos of their current home and where Finn would be sleeping once he is adopted. Finn is not an outdoor dog although he does enjoy spending time with his human(s) while together they  play or simply  spend time outdoors with him. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED AT: THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS:$200. Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 5 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing).  The owner of this Schnauzer will review all approved applications and documentation that SRC sends to them.  They will contact you to ask questions and to answer any questions you may have.  At that point if a meet and greet has been scheduled, an adoption contract will be sent to you which you must sign and return to SRC.  If the meet and greet goes well, your donation of $200 (tax deductible)  may be made online so that the release of the Schnauzer may happen.  SRC will notify the owner of this Schnauzer when the donation is completed so that they may release the Schnauzer to their new adoptive home.  SRC will register his/her micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge.November 18, 2025, 1:04 am

Story
OWNER PLACEMENT ASSISTED BY SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS My name is RHETT and my SRC identification number is OPSRC3613.  My mother  is a beautiful POMSKY who had a candescent relationship with the STANDARD SCHNAUZER male who lived next door.  The look in his eyes won Belle (my mother) over and they began a hidden relationship until I and my siblings put an immediate stop to that. Wow, I want to be just like my father! Belle was so enamored with her beautiful babies that her love for my daddy became a sweet memory.  It is to be expected since all  of us babies are absolutely handsome! Two of my siblings have already gone to other homes, and soon I will be adopted by an SRC applicant! I heard my human mom say "Rhett is a sweetheart who loves to cuddle and enjoys playtime almost as much as cuddles".  We were all born on August 30, 2025 and I weigh every bit of 11 pounds.  Even though my dad is a strong medium size an I look more like him than my mom, I look so much more like my dad  that it is believed I will be between a small and medium size. After all my mother is petite and very         femin ine. Neither one of my parents are hefty or really large. My dad is an AKC registered Standard Schnauzer and  mom is a lovely blend of Pomeranian and Husky, currently the Pomchey breed is not eligible to be AKC registered. That really doesn't matter because when you see me you be thrilled!  My day is consistent and I enjoy it.  My human mom works so hard to assure that I and my siblings are healthy, clean and have outside enjoyment.  We all get fed first thing in the morning and then she gives each of us a bath and cleans our pen.  After  that all of us get to play in an outdoor pen for 2 to 3 hours.  We play so much that time just flies by. Breakfast is served at 6am and before I know it, it is time for supper at 6pm. After all we have played, and napped and played even more. I notice things that go by because I am so intelligent.  Children who are old enough are lots of fun so I get along with them very well, but no matter how hard I look I haven't found a cat to get to know so I can't tell you how we would get along. When I am adopted, I would do very well with another canine. Thought you might want to know that should you decide to adopt me and already have a dog.  It would be wonderful if they would play with me.  I love to play!  If you adopt me, it is really important that I get lots of play time and cuddles.  I like cuddles almost more than play.  I really want a yard so I can run and play because obviously I am a little young to be leash trained.  All the humans tell my human mom that they think all of us are absolutely adorable!  I am old enough now to eat regular dog food and my human mom will let you know what I eat, and you will get some of my dog food so that I don't go hungry. My vaccinations have been kept up as required. Of course I am too young for Rabies and Heartworm testing. My fur is a unique coloring -- wait until you get to meet me.  You won't find many puppies that have markings like mine. My coat is a combination of Black and Brown with a White cross across my chest.  I suppose you might be wondering why my human mom did not just get me placed in homes by herself, well unfortunately, she has had  serious medical issues in the family which she must deal with.  Not me or my siblings--we are healthy.  My human mom loves us so much that she asked for SRC to help her, and they were honored to have her ask.   SRC will help us find the perfect family  and will provide a microchip for me which may be inserted when I am old enough.  Who knows my new parents might just be YOU!   SRC WILL PROVIDE AN ADOPTION CONTRACT AND WILL REQUIRE THAT THIS PRECIOUS BOY BE NEUTERED ONCE HIS GROWTH PLATES CLOSE.  ALSO CALLED EPIPHYSEAL PLATES, THESE ARE SOFT AREAS AT THE END OF LONG BONES WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO GROW TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.  IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THESE CLOSE, AND THAT IS USUALLY AROUND 18 MONTHS.  SOME VETS RECOMMEND THAT THE TIME FRAME FOR NEUTERING DOGS IS AFTER TESTICLES DECEND. Once the adoptive parents have had this canine neutered, SRC will provide a tax letter when provided a receipt showing he was neutered. IT IS REQUIRED THAT HE BE NEUTERED OR THIS DOG MAY BE RECLAIMED. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED AT:LIBERTY, NC THE ADOPTIVE FAMILY MUST BE WILLING TO DRIVE THERE TO PICK YOUR FAMILY COMPANION UP. THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS: $225.00 Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 5 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing). SRC will register his/her micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge.December 4, 2025, 6:06 pm
