His current owners were fortunate enough to bring Oakley into their home as a precocious pup during 2017. As a puppy, he came from a breeder located in the state of Florida. Oakley quickly became their beloved family companion. Obviously, his human parents loved him because just look at his sweet face. In addition, he is great with humans and does well with other animals once the meet and greet has been established. Unfortunately Oakley’s loving parents have had serious changes in their schedule so they know they are no longer able to provide him with the consistent time, attention and structure which Oakley was used to. A heartbreaking decision was made to find Oakley a home with a family who are able to provide the loving care he deserves. In preparing to find Oakley a wonderful adoptive home, they have provided information about him which will help prospective adoptive parents to make a decision as to whether or not they are able to provide all Oakley has been used to and deserves. Temperament and Training · Oakley understands and responds to several commands which include: sit, lay down, leave it, stay, up (stands or onto something), cage/go to bed, back (to back up). He also responds to a whistle and will return to his human should he take off. Using short "cht" noises to do the opposite of what he is doing at the moment should you want him to stop. · He is crate trained and settles well once he adjusts. · He is housebroken, so he is currently accustomed to a routine of morning and evening potty breaks. Personality, Habits, and Preferences · Oakley is very friendly with other dogs, but he does get overly excited when meeting them. He could benefit from continued socialization. Despite this excitement, he is not aggressive and usually submits if another dog reacts negatively. · He loves going outside, being part of household activities, and enjoys attention from people (Will find your hand to give him pets). · He barks when confined too early in the evening or in the morning when ready to come out, which we believe comes from being cooped up during the day while his owners are at work. · He has not shown any aggression toward people or other pets. · Oakley enjoys chew toys, treats (Frozen, cheek roles, and Yak cheese are his favorite), and time outdoors. Prospective adopters should either work from home or be retired with energy enough to provide Oakley with lots of interaction, and playtime outside. He would benefit from an adoption where the home has a secure fenced yard although he should never be left alone in the yard. My name is BENTLEY (SRC3604). I am almost 3 years old and weigh approximately 17 pounds but I am now on a diet to keep me healthy for a lifetime. I am a  neutered male Mini Schnauzer with Natural Ears and  Docked Tail.  I am a very handsome Blue Merle color.   I am microchipped, have all my vaccinations, am heart-worm negative and, been  neutered.  I will be evaluated for a minimum of 2 weeks by my foster mom who is located in MT. Pleasant, South Carolina. She says that I am an absolutely PERFECT dog. My Story Bentley came into SRC care recently and is being  prepared for adoption by a foster parent who has gone thru our approval process.   We at SRC just want him to have that loving home he deserves. His first family loved him very much, yet personal issues made it impossible for them to keep Bentley.  They love him enough to assure that Bentley goes to the best possible adoptive family and that is why they selected SRC to place him in that adoptive home where he will be loved and cared for the remainder of  his lifetime.    Bentley is used to having a fenced yard so it would be preferred that the adoptive family have a fenced yard.  Bentley sleeps in a crate at night and he will nap in an open crate  during the daytime.  Bentley is leash trained but could use more training with it, and  he is house broken.  Naturally like all Minis he is not very happy at having to go outside to potty in the rain and cold weather.  He will let you take a toy away from him, yet he thinks it is a game of tug of war, so be patient. Bentley gets along very well with other dogs but he has never been exposed to cats.  Bentley is very friendly and loves cuddle time.  He does well with car rides but it is not absolute that he enjoys them    When ready for adoption this dog will be heart-worm  tested (negative), de-wormed, vaccinations brought up to date, neutered if not done already, micro-chipped, examined  by a vet and any necessary medical issues found by this vet will be addressed. I am a Mini Schnauzer  with Cropped Ears and  Docked Tails.  I am white with a couple of wisps of black (foot and nubbin). Both of them are leash trained (although Tucker does pull a little bit, but that is because he wants to enjoy as much exploring as possible) and both  are house broken.  Naturally like all Minis they are not very happy at having to go outside to potty in the rain and cold weather.  Tucker has learned to sit on command, and   how to spin around on command. He gets  along very well with other dogs yet has never been exposed to cats. My name is GEORGIA (SRC3600)  I was borne on July 1, 2021.  I weigh approximately 15 pounds. I am a white spayed Mini Schnauzer female with Natural Ears and  Docked Tail.  I am microchipped, have all my vaccinations, am heart-worm negative and, am  spayed .  I have been evaluated for a minimum of 2 weeks by my foster mom who is located in MT. Bruce is a very smart dog. I picked him up after I moved away from home. I gave him to my mother while I was overseas and now I’m back. When I picked him up he had scars from pit bulls attacking him so he is very offensive or defensive but he means well he is a protective dog. And he is about 3 years old so he is a younger dog. In the home I’m just looking for someone to have a bit more patience than we do and maybe a yard of him to roam around in.
