We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving end of November 2026 (after Thanksgiving) to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Yumi to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee, along with her adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Yumi ultimately finalizing her adoption.
Meet Yumi 🩷
Yumi is an almost 3-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, born October 3, 2023, and weighing just under 20 pounds. She is definitely on the larger side for a female Miniature Schnauzer, but we happen to think she is the perfect sturdy size. If you ask Yumi, though, she’ll tell you she simply carries her weight exceptionally well for a lady. 🙃😂
Yumi came to us through absolutely no fault of her own. Her previous owner loved her very much, but his work required him to travel out of state frequently. That meant Yumi was often staying with friends and neighbors while he was away, coming home to him for a little while, only to watch him leave again.
Eventually, he had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Not because he wanted a life without her, but because he knew she deserved a life where her person was actually there to share it with her. As much as he loved coming home to Yumi, he knew those short stretches together between trips simply weren’t enough for a girl who loves her people as much as she does.
And Yumi absolutely LOVES being part of someone’s life. 🩷
She is a social butterfly in every sense of the word. She loves everyone she meets, makes friends almost immediately, and genuinely believes she should be included in whatever is happening. Whether you’re going for a walk, taking a drive, hanging around the house, or simply having a conversation that technically has nothing to do with her, Yumi is ready to participate.
Especially in the conversation. 😂
She is most definitely ALL Schnauzer and has absolutely no problem using her voice to communicate with you. Yumi doesn’t just bark, she talks. She has commentary, opinions, rebuttals, and occasionally what we can only assume are closing arguments. 😂
She has wonderful house manners and listens very well… unless she has already decided her idea is better. Then you may find yourself having a full-on debate while she explains exactly why you should reconsider. 😎
She isn’t bossy. At least, that’s her side of the story. 😂 She simply has a mind of her own, isn’t afraid to use it, and has that wonderfully quirky Schnauzer personality that keeps you laughing. She is smart, confident, affectionate, full of life, and quite honestly, the life of the party.
Yumi is completely house trained and goes outside when asked and when she needs to use the restroom. She has adapted beautifully to our routine here and has great manners inside the home.
She is also crate trained and sleeps peacefully and quietly in her crate throughout the entire night. She is wonderful about bedtime and settles right in without any fuss. If her new family prefers for her to eventually sleep in a dog bed of her own, we believe she would transition very easily. Yumi is incredibly adaptable and, as long as she knows she belongs there with you, she’s a happy girl. 🩷
She is wonderful with other dogs and does beautifully sharing her space and her life with canine friends.
She is also fantastic on leash and genuinely enjoys getting out for her walks and adventures. She’ll even happily wear her little booties to keep her feet protected while she’s out and about, because apparently Yumi believes every lady should have appropriate footwear for the occasion. 😂🩷
She is wonderful on road trips and makes an easy, enjoyable little traveling companion. She is equally wonderful at the groomer and does beautifully for her spa days, which is certainly convenient because a Schnauzer girl with this much personality has an image to maintain. 🙃
Prior to adoption, Yumi will be spayed, brought current on all of her yearly vaccinations, microchipped, and receive a dental cleaning. She will also receive a complete veterinary examination with our vet and will be medically cleared by him prior to going home with her adopting family.

Her adoption fee covers all of her veterinary care, as well as the care she has received since coming to us and her continued everyday care, grooming, training, and socialization right up until the day she heads home with her new family.
What we would love most for Yumi is simply someone who wants her there.
Someone who wants the little shadow following them around the house. Someone who will take her along when they can, laugh at her Schnauzer commentary, appreciate her wonderfully opinionated little personality, and give her the consistency she hasn’t always been able to have.
Because underneath all of the sass, humor, and personality is a girl who absolutely adores people and just wants to belong to someone who gets to come home to her, and stay. 🩷
Yumi has spent enough time saying goodbye.
