Story
Hi, I’m Sparrow “Chip,” but honestly Chip is way easier to yell across a room. I’m a 12-pound Mini Schnauzer mix with fancy white-and-silver fur, I am almost 4 years old, and I have the energy of someone who just had three espresso shots. I’m a happy little guy who thinks basically everything is exciting. New people? Amazing. Walks? Incredible. Snacks? Life-changing. Random leaf blowing across the yard? You better believe I’m interested. I’m super affectionate, love attention, and would very much enjoy being involved in whatever you’re doing at all times. I’ve got a goofy personality, a waggy tail, and strong potential to become your tiny bearded sidekick. Since a lot of this whole “pet dog” thing is still pretty new to me, I’m looking for a patient human who can help show me the ropes while appreciating my very important talents, like being adorable and enthusiastically existing. If you’ve been searching for a funny little buddy with good vibes, soft fur, and zero concept of personal space, I might just be your guy. Adoption fee is: $375 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. Story
Meet Shadow Jayden, a 5-year-old, 13-pound Schnauzer mix with a complex heart and a story that’s still unfolding. Shadow came to us from another shelter and has been struggling to feel safe and settled in the kennel environment. Shadow is a highly fearful and reactive dog who finds new people and situations overwhelming. He is especially reactive around barriers. Because of this, Shadow will need a very experienced, patient, and dog-savvy adopter or rescue partner who understands how to work with fear-based behaviors. While he’s doing okay with his potty training, he’ll need continued consistency and a calm, structured environment to thrive. Leash training has been challenging due to his reactivity, and he will need slow, positive reinforcement to help him feel more secure. Shadow Jayden isn’t ready for the average home—but with the right person who’s willing to give him time, space, and understanding, we believe there’s potential for him to begin healing. He needs someone who sees beyond his fear and is committed to helping him feel safe in a world that’s been very scary so far. Adoption fee is: $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. Story
Meet Vince Moretti ✨a tiny schnauzer mix with a gentle soul ✨ 2 yrs old, weighing about 12 lbs, this boy is as sweet as they come—even if the world still feels a bit big and scary right now. Vince is unsure and nervous at first, preferring to observe quietly and take things at his own pace. But underneath that shyness is a truly loving pup with a heart full of affection. Gentle encouragement, patience, and a peaceful home will help this sweetheart continue to blossom. Vince is looking for a kind, understanding family who will let trust grow slowly and celebrate every small victory. In return, you’ll gain a loyal little companion whose love is soft, sincere, and incredibly special. 🐾💕 Adoption fee is: $400 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Story
Piper says if you are looking for a furry friend of your own, look no further! Piper is around 9 years old. She loves walks but also loves her time on the comfy couch (or dog bed). She’s not one who wants to be outside for too long (no matter the temperature) so a fenced backyard for quick potty breaks or a quick walk on a leash and she is good to go! Piper came to wescue with bad skin and very little hair and has come a LONG way. Our vets discovered she has a heart murmur, so Piper gets daily medications to keep her healthy. She will need a home that can keep her on a strict diet to keep her looking and feeling her best! Age: 9 years old Weight: 22 lbs Dogs: Good Cats: unknown Children: no Piper has been vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $250 and includes a minimum of 90 days medications, 6 months’ heartworm preventative, prepaid lifetime premium microchip registration, and safety harness If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Piper, please apply online at wsrh.com Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. If you have a specific question, please email us at westiehouston@gmail.com but in order to be considered for adoption, you must complete an application. All dogs are available until “Adoption Pending” is noted next to their names. WSRH DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC SHELTER. ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN PRIVATE HOMES. Approved adopters only will be invited

Cocoa was abandoned by her owners and tied to a light pole. We have fostered her for 4 days. She is not good with other animals and needs a house with a lot of people interaction. She is sweet, but may have been abused previously. She is microchippedbut her owner cannot take her back. Vet stated she had a litter but is not currently pregnant. She received heartworm and flea shot plus rabies. She was given a special shampoo to help her skin heal.
