Story
Hi. My name is Boone. Yes… Boone in a red bucket. You’re probably wondering why a perfectly good dog is sitting in a bright red bucket like a rejected toy from aisle seven. Allow me to explain. This photo was taken right after my very first trip to the groomer, while I waited for my foster mom to pick me up. Before that? A very kind lady found me on the streets, and my hair was so matted and tangled that she actually broke her clippers trying to shave me. I wish I were exaggerating. I’m not. It hurt. I had clearly been on my own for a while. Thankfully, that nice lady brought me to Twilight Tails, and they sent me to a professional to finish the job. Just you wait until my hair grows back in—I am going to be quite the looker. For now, let’s call this my “minimalist phase”. So, about me: We’ve agreed I’m some kind of Mini Schnauzer/Terrier/Maltese mix, about 12 pounds, and roughly 2 years old. Compact, portable, and perfect for cuddling. My foster mom says I am VERY affectionate and lovable, which is true. I don’t love being left alone in those wire crate things—I much prefer being with my person. If I could explain it better, I would, but I think “please don’t leave me” covers it. I have medium energy, I play nicely with other dogs, but if given the choice, I will pick my human every single time. I may seem shy for about five minutes, and then I’m all hugs, kisses, and devotion. Also, treats. I really love treats. I had never had them before. Same with toys. I’m still figuring those out. At night, I sleep at the foot of my foster mom’s bed. In the morning, when the lights come on, I immediately cover her with kisses. This is non-negotiable. I walk well on a leash, and now that I have a sweater, I’m very happy to go for neighborhood walks. I would do great in an apartment or a home with a yard. Other dogs are fine but not required. I’d probably be okay with cats too—I’m pretty sure I met a few while surviving on the streets. I am the perfect dog for someone who wants a loving, loyal companion. I don’t need much—just a person to love and a place to belong. I hope to meet my forever family soon. I promise to love you forever. Boone ___________________________________________________________________________________ MORE DETAILS: Boone is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family. NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston. Currently this Boone is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below. Adoption fee is $495 plus $30 for a health certificate and $250 for transport. Please complete the application on this link: https://forms.gle/FKSMBuoGTujaTkun8 Or email Sandra.ttr.tx@gmail.com for a link to the application. Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet him. Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport. We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!

Story
Senior schnauzer/poodle mix (approx. 13 years old, 25 lbs) looking for a calm, loving home. He is friendly, gentle, and good with kids and other dogs, with no bite history. Due to the arrival of a new baby, he has been struggling with stress-related behaviors (barking, accidents), and we want to find a quieter environment that better suits his needs. He would do best in a peaceful home with someone who can give him patience and stability.

Story
Pierce is a good looking boy straight from the streets of Houston. He is a wonderful, funny boy when he trusts you but trust is not something that comes easy for him. He has obviously been let down by humans his entire life. He is currently living with our trainer, who is helping him understand that humans can be good and trusted. Pierce is just about 2 years old, 60 pounds and maybe a schnauzer/husky mix. He needs an experienced handler who can continue to help him build h is confidence and trust in humans. Pierce is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Pierce is currently heartworm positive but we will continue to cover treating him through the slow kill method. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this handsome guy, just fill out the appropriate application found at scoutshonor.org.     Scout's Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 87-0773073 Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/scoutshonorrescue or Instagram at www.instagram.com/scoutshonorrescue We have multiple ways to donate: Venmo:  @ScoutsHonor-Rescue Paypal: www.paypal.me/scoutshonorrescue   https://scoutshonor.org/take-action/donate/ We are strictly volunteer based, no salaries are paid and 100% of donations go towards rescuing dogs November 5, 2024, 1:18 am
