Story
Sabrina is a majestic, mysterious-looking girl with a youthful spirit. To be honest, she might be a wizard, as she can magically get out of bandages with a wriggle of her nose and a toss of her head. She has been the consummate house guest in her foster home. She's housetrained and gets along great with the resident pups. She was tolerant of the dreaded bath and even enjoyed being blow-dryed. She sleeps through the night and can be left home along without getting into mischief. She loves walks and being outside, snuggling on pillows/blankets/dog beds, treats, car rides, meeting new people, foster dad, and snoozes. She greets people with love, tail nub wags, and kisses. Sabrina has done well with calm, older kids but would prefer not to have the smaller, louder youngsters in her home. She would love to have a home with another dog, a fenced yard, people that are home most of the time and will take her on fun adventures, and that is generally calm and quiet. She loves meeting new people and is very social. But, she has been protective of herself at the vet and sometimes in the home, so will need someone with a lot of patience and is dog savvy. She has skin allergies, for which she takes apoquel and some special food, and she will need occasional dentals. She just had one, so it will be a while before she needs another. She is currently recovering from her spay, hernia repair, and an ear hemotoma, but all of those should be resolved shortly. Sabrina is a sweet girl will take time, patience, love, and commitment. She will be so worth it, rewarding you with unending love, joy, and fun. Sabrina is approx 7 years old and 13 lbs. fostered in Baltimore, MD please apply at mirishaven.org

Story
Meet lovely Lady Maya!! This sweet senior girl is the perfect mix of feisty, classy, and delightfully sassy. She may have a few years under her collar, but she still brings happy energy and that signature Schnauzer attitude that makes everyone smile. She’s a professional lap‑sitter, a polite eater, fully house trained, and a leash‑walking pro who loves calm, quiet homes with just a few special humans. If you need a foot warmer on cold nights, she will certainly be a willing participant and neatly occupies the space at the foot of the bed. She gets along fine with other dogs, but if someone gets pushy, she’ll politely remind them to mind their manners — she’s a lady, after all. Her favorite things include: Snuggling directly in your lap Enjoying peaceful, low‑key spaces Being active without being wild Showing off her excellent training If you’re looking for a well‑mannered, affectionate companion who brings joy, comfort, and a sprinkle of spunk, this lovely girl is ready to be your new best friend. Maya is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $250 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Story
Kota is a sweet boy but we adopted him and his sister at the same time. We have worked with a trainer and learned that he and his sister have littermate syndrome (look it up). He has become increasingly protective of her and now showing aggression with visitors and even our kids if they try to pet his sister. We want him to have a good life because he is a good guy, but it seems he needs a home away from his sister to find his chill. Our kids will be devastated because they love him but everything I read is that his behavior will probably escalate if he stays with his littermate. He is only 10 months now so there is plenty of time for him to turn it around. Bonus is that he really took to training and direction so I can share those tricks and skills with you. We have a cat he gets along with and and older dog. Because of this littermate syndrome he is more protective when other dogs have tried to come to the house so I do not know how well he would do with a dog from the outside.
