Story
Hi, I’m Ice Pop!About me:My first decade of life was incredibly difficult. I spent most of my life confined to a cage, with very little human interaction, affection, or the chance to experience the world. My foster mama doesn’t think I had ever been outside before coming into rescue. Sadly, because I didn’t receive the medical care I needed, I am also completely deaf. But despite everything I’ve been through, I’m a quirky little guy who is slowly discovering that the world can be a safe and wonderful place — and that people can be kind.Things I LOVE: Going for walks in my sling, having my own safe space — my kennel is my happy place and Wet food!Things I DON’T LOVE:Being chased, Busy, high-traffic environments and Fast movements — they can be scary for meMy special request: I’m looking for a quiet, low-traffic retirement home with patient, gentle and loving people who understand that I’ve had a rough start and will need time to continue learning that life is safe.My forever family will also need to continue supporting my skin and coat as they heal, as well as staying on top of my dental health. I may need a little extra care, but I promise I’m worth it.Kennel trained: YES! My kennel is my safe space.House trained: Not quite. I use pee pads sometimes and also wear belly bands.Dogs: Yes!Cats: Yes!Children: No — too much energy for this little guy!I may have spent my first ten years simply surviving. Now, I’m ready to spend my next chapter feeling safe, loved and spoiled.

Story
Hi, I’m Licorice My story didn’t start the way every dog deserves. I spent much of my life in a cage, with very little positive human interaction or affection, and was made to have litter after litter of puppies. My foster mama isn’t even sure I had ever experienced the outside world before coming to IWARS.But now, something beautiful is happening. I’m learning. I’m healing. And I’m discovering that life can be safe. I’m still a very timid girl, and I’m never going to be the dog who runs up to greet everyone. And that’s okay. I’m learning at my own pace, one tiny brave step at a time.Things I LOVE: Going for walks in my sling, My kennel — it’s my happy, safe place, Having my own quiet space, Wet food and freeze-dried treats and Hanging out with the other pets in my foster home. Things I DON’T LOVE: Being chased, Busy, high-traffic environments, Fast movements and Loud or unfamiliar sounds. My special request: I’m looking for a quiet, low-traffic retirement home with gentle, patient people who understand that I’ve had a very hard start and will need time to learn that the world is a safe place.I may always prefer my cozy safe spots over big adventures — and that’s perfectly okay. What I really want is a peaceful home where I can relax, be loved and simply be me.I’ve also discovered that I LOVE having other pets around! I would love a home with a friendly, confident dog who can keep me company and show me that there’s nothing to be afraid of.My forever family will need to keep an eye on my dental health as I’m getting a little older. I may need some extra care and patience, but I promise you… I am worth it. ?? Kennel trained: YES! My kennel is my safe space.?? House trained: Not quite. I use pee pads most of the time and appreciate a nice, fresh one!?? Dogs: Yes!?? Cats: Yes!?? Children: No — too much energy for this quiet girl.I may have spent the first years of my life simply surviving.I don’t need a perfect family. I just need someone willing to see the very special little dog hiding behind my fear. Could that someone be you? ??
