Story
Louis is a 12 pound, 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who came to us after his owner passed, and it’s clear he was well-loved. Louis is a perfect little gentleman who likes people from newborns and up, and is dog friendly too! He backs off if given a couple of warnings from another dog, and is not possessive around his food bowl. Louis has not been cat tested yet. Although he is 10, he has the spryness of a much younger dog. He has no issues whatsoever with running up stairs, jumping onto beds, or chasing a tennis ball about a hundred times. He is not a yappy dog, although he will break his silence to guard the house if there’s a suspicious bump in the night (not every night, genuinely only for sounds that startle him awake) or a bird trying to perch on your house (they are allowed in the trees - he has his standards). He may be surprisingly athletic, but he is delightfully cuddly as well, and once he gets used to you he may even ask for a belly rubs. Being the gentleman that he is, Louis likes sleeping in a bed with you, but politely curls up by the foot of the bed to stay out of the way. Louis is currently sporting a shorter hairstyle due to some matting he had in his fur, but that just proves to us that he’ll look dapper in whatever hairstyle you put him in. Despite the haircut being long and likely uncomfortable at times, he was a paradigm of patience, making not a peep of protest. Louis may be just about perfect, but he is currently still working on: Signaling to go outside, which is common for dogs switching environments Not stealing easily-snatched snacks (he may love children, but he also loves the way they accidentally hold chicken nuggets at eye level to him, who can blame him?) Louis loves: People Playing fetch (if you get bored of it, he’ll play fetch with himself by rolling it off the edge of a bed or couch and then chasing it) Toys of all types Curling up as close to you as he can If you’re looking for an easy going, delightful little dog who just needs someone to love, Louis is your guy!
