Story
Meet Peter — a 10-year-old, 10 lb Yorkshire Terrier with the most charming “toothless” smile you’ll ever see! Quick Facts: Name: Peter Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Age: 10 years old Weight: 10 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested but we guess he’d be fine with them! Good with Kids: Hasn’t met them yet, but loves everyone! Energy Level: Medium to high Fence Required: Yes - he is an escape artist! Special Care Note: This little guy has minor anatomical difference known as slightly permanent paraphimosis, where his prepuce doesn't fully cover his penis. When we rescued him, it was much more protruded, but with consistent care it has improved significantly over the past month. Our veterinarians have thoroughly evaluated him and confirmed this is not a surgical issue and does not affect his comfort or quality of life. Ongoing care is simple and involves applying a small amount of lubricant twice daily. He's happy, playful, and completely unaware that he's any different - just a sweet Yorkie who needs a bit of extra care! About Peter’s Breed: Our best guess is that Peter is a Yorkie mix. The Yorkshire Terrier, or “Yorkie,” is a tiny toy breed with a big personality, known for being affectionate, lively, and confident. Despite their small size, they carry themselves with boldness and charm, often described as having a “big dog attitude in a little body.” Yorkies are famous for their long, silky coats, which require regular grooming, and they thrive on companionship, making them devoted lap dogs as well as spirited playmates. Peter recently had dental work and is now healthy, happy, and ready to shine in his forever home! He’s potty trained, crate trained, and trustworthy outside of his crate, making him an easy companion. Despite his age, Peter has plenty of energy—he loves to run, play, and explore the yard with his foster doggie siblings. He’s also great on a leash and enjoys daily walks, plus he rides well in the car, making him the perfect little travel buddy! Peter’s PAWsitively Adorable Highlights: • Potty & crate trained, quick learner of house rules • Dog-friendly, loves playing with his foster siblings • Affectionate “Velcro” pup, happiest in a lap or by your side • Energetic for his age, enjoys walks and yard play • Soft food diet, since he has only a few teeth left • Car rider pro, loves adventures with his people • Would thrive with a fenced yard or regular leash walks • Ideal home: someone who can spend lots of time with him, as he loves constant companionship Peter is a sweet, affectionate little boy who wants nothing more than to be your loyal sidekick. With his happy spirit, cuddly nature, and adorable smile, he’s ready to bring endless love and joy to his forever family! Story
Meet Sugar — a 2-year-old, 8 lb. “Morkie” with a name that perfectly matches her sweet and spunky personality! Quick Facts: Name: Sugar Breed: Maltese/Yorkie Mix Age: 2 years old Weight: 8 lbs House-Trained: About 80% there (just needs supervision) Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (smaller dogs with slow introductions) Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Only older, respectful kids (she can resource guard food and other items) Energy Level: High Fence Required: Fence Required: Yes! This little escape artist can get through a fence with any gaps and will climb a chain link fence, so a tall secure wood/vinyl privacy fence is required for our girl. About Sugar’s Breed: Our best guess is that Sugar is a Yorkie/Maltese mix – commonly known as a “Morkie”. These are small, affectionate dogs known for their playful personalities and silky, soft coats. These pups are affectionate and loyal, and bond deeply with their humans. They are a social, playful breed who do well people who are home more often than not. Like Sugar, Morkies just want to be near their people soaking up love and attention. Sugar may be petite, but she’s bursting with big energy and even bigger charm. She’s a playful little firecracker who thinks everything is fun—from romping with doggy friends to soaking up attention from people of all ages. Her favorite place in the world? Right by your side or curled up in your lap, of course! Sugar’s Sweetest Highlights: • Loves people, but would do best in an adult only household or one with older, respectful kids who understand her boundaries • Gets along with other small dogs, but prefers being the center of attention • Dominant play style, full of confidence and sass • Great on leash, ready for adventures or neighborhood strolls • Full of personality, playful, curious, and always entertaining • Lap lover and cuddle queen, happiest when close to her people • Would thrive in a home where she’s included in daily life—outings, snuggles, and all! Sugar is looking for a family who will shower her with love and let her be their little shadow. Whether you’re on the go or staying in, she’s ready to be your loyal, lively companion. She can be a selective eater with refined tastes (she loves her salmon kibble and Greek yogurt meals). She may resource guard her bones and at times, her favorite human, so a dog-savvy household is recommended. Sugar doesn't like to be separated from her family and wants to be involved in everything (she will even tag along with you on errands in her papoose, and loves to be groomed! If she's left out, she might "voice" her displeasure and remind you that she wants to join in the fun. Her potty routines are important to follow and she will need to be taken out right after mealtime. If you’re ready for a tiny dog with a huge heart, deep attachment and affection, and endless charm, Sugar is ready to sweeten your life!  Ready to Welcome Sugar Into Your Life?
