Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › This sweet pup, along with 13 others, was rescued from a backyard breeder and brought to Pawfect Match after enduring truly heartbreaking conditions. They had been living outdoors on dirt floors, exposed to the elements, and forced to fend for themselves. Tilly is heartworm positive Despite their difficult past, they are friendly with other dogs, having been surrounded by many. They’re also affectionate with people, though they’ve never known the comfort of a real home. These dogs will need patient, understanding adopters who can gently teach them what it means to be part of a family. They are still learning the basics—potty training, walking on a leash, and building confidence through socialization. With love and guidance, they have the potential to thrive and become wonderful companions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 6, 2025, 1:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Gus was surrendered to the shelter with his 2 brothers by owner. Gus is a little fella and loves to play, he is the most mischievous of his siblings when left alone but is crate trained! These pups are very sweet and just have things to learn. Their owner loved them but they just weren’t taught anything, but they are at a great age to learn still! Gus is more wide open and not afraid of anything, he THINKS he is 50 lbs! Gus is a big snuggler though and will sleep curled up to you all night long! These boys are on the schedule to get fixed, working on pottying out side currently. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 7, 2026, 9:55 am

***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY*** Total Adoption Fee: $895 This includes our standard adoption fee of $395 plus an additional required $500 tax-deductible donation. Why the additional donation? Dogs with highly desirable traits—such as non-shedding coats or popular breeds—help us fund lifesaving care for dogs who need it most, including nursing moms, dogs with traumatic injuries, and those requiring heartworm treatment (i.e. dogs who require more intensive medical treatment and care prior to adoption). Your generosity makes this possible! If you wonder how to pronounce her name, think of bananas without the B, though she is anything but bananas! This beautiful black beauty is a very sweet girl who wants to cuddle up with her special person. She’s very quiet and will sit by your side but does have a playful side if you get out a toy. Ananas enjoys chewing on a bully stick or other squishy toy and gets surprised by one that squeaks! She loves to go for walks and does very well on her leash and has been improving on her bathroom habits so long as you keep to a schedule. At night, Ananas will sleep in her crate quietly and wake you up in the morning when she needs to go outside. She travels well in the car and enjoys meeting new people and other dogs - big or small, she wants to play with all! She can be a bit timid with new environments or meeting new people, especially men, but does warm up quickly when met with a soft voice and treats. This girl is very treat motivated so definitely use that to your advantage to help with training and introductions to new environments. If you're going bananas over the super sweet Ananas, come meet her at Saving Grace this weekend!

Meet Kyrus – A Beautiful Boy with Energy, Spirit, and a Love for Socks Quick Facts: Breed: Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix (Morkie) DOB: 5/12/2024 Weight: 11.5 lbs House-Trained: In progress Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not introduced Good with Kids: Not introduced Energy Level: High Fence Required: Yes Special Traits: Loves socks, easygoing play style, very people-oriented Why You’ll Love Kyrus: Absolutely beautiful with a personality to match Loves people and thrives on attention Playful and energetic with an easygoing style Crate trained and learning quickly Equal parts spirited and sweet About Kyrus’s Breed: Morkies (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mixes) are known for their lively personalities, affectionate nature, and intelligence. They are often spirited little companions who bond closely with their families and thrive in homes that provide engagement and consistency. With proper structure and activity, they make devoted and entertaining lifelong companions. Kyrus’s Story & Personality: Kyrus is a stunning young boy with a bright spirit and lots of energy to share. He is still working on house training but is crate trained and settling into routines nicely. Once fully housebroken, he can be left alone for reasonable periods. He can walk on a leash and is improving every day, but he will need continued guidance and consistency. Because of his high energy level, a securely fenced yard is important so he can safely burn off steam. He would do best in an energetic household that enjoys activity and engagement. Kyrus does well with other dogs and has an easygoing play style. He loves people and truly enjoys being part of the action. While he hasn’t yet been introduced to kids or cats, his friendly and social personality suggests he will thrive with proper introductions. He doesn’t care much for traditional toys — but give him a sock and he’s thrilled! At bedtime, he may cry or howl briefly when first crated, but he settles down quickly and sleeps well through the night. Kyrus would likely do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he enjoys companionship and engagement. With structure, patience, and plenty of activity, he will blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. Kyrus’s Ideal Home: Securely fenced yard Energetic household Someone committed to continued house and leash training Possibly someone home most of the time A family ready for a spirited young companion Ready to Add Some Energy and Beauty to Your Life? Kyrus is ready to bring fun, affection, and a little sock-stealing charm into his forever home. If you’re looking for a lively young companion with a beautiful soul, Kyrus may be your perfect match. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We assist with coordinating transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!February 13, 2026, 1:04 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. INTERESTED IN MEETING OR ADOPTING WALNUT from Best Friend Pet Adoption rescue? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.   Meet  Walnut  — a little dog who weighs 11lbs with a big, sunny personality.  Walnut is a 5 year old terrier mix.   Small in size but full of joy, Walnut is fun loving, cheerful and eager to be part of your world.  He thrives on attention and playtime—fetch is a favorite!—but he’s also wonderfully adaptable. When you’re busy with human stuff, Walnut is perfectly content to settle down at your feet, happy just to be near you.    He is used to having people home during the day, and does not do well if left alone for long periods. Since he is a very people-centric dog, an adopter who works from home or is home most of the time will be the best fit for him.    This good boy comes with excellent house manners and is crate trained.  He knows basic commands like sit and stay.  He has been trained not to race out of the door for a walk, but to allow you to go out first. He is very alert and will bark if anyone comes to the house.     Walnut will respect his boundaries like staying off certain furniture or waiting patiently by the dinner table during mealtimes. He listens well to a calm, confident leader. He's not food- or toy-aggressive.     Walnut is a good walker on leash, though a bit on the toddling, slow side. He does not need a fenced yard and is used to walks. He loves his twice daily 30-minute walks plus a few short ones to do his business.    Walnut would be an ideal companion for a single adopter who wants a devoted sidekick. He has been a one-person dog although he might learn to do well in a family setting with older kids if given a good initial effort at socialization to help him feel comfortable in new situations. He has not been exposed to living with cats or other dogs.  One delightful bonus? Walnut has been spotted standing on his back legs  just to get a better look at something—an impressive little feat that hints he could be a natural for agility training  or other fun, confidence-building activities. The video shows him searching for food hidden in a blanket!  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants ideally should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants that live within an hours drive of Cary NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING WALNUT ?
