Meet Kookie! Kookie is a small, cute little guy with a big personality! He’s friendly with people and other dogs and would love to find a family who will appreciate his sweet nature while helping him continue to build confidence and good habits. Kookie does have some mild separation anxiety, but he seems to feel more comfortable when Luci is around. For this reason, Kookie and Luci need to find a home together. He also does well with other dogs, so a home with another friendly dog could be a wonderful fit for him. Kookie does have a couple of behaviours that his adopters will need to be prepared to manage and work on. He is known to resource guard his food from both people and other dogs, so he’ll need thoughtful management, patience, and positive training around mealtimes. Because of this, a home with children could work best with adopters who are committed to supervising and managing this behaviour appropriately. Kookie may also urine mark at times. His adopters should be prepared for some patience and training as he works on this habit. Neutering may help reduce marking behaviour, along with consistent management and positive reinforcement. Kookie is a friendly little guy who gets along with other dogs, and his compatibility with cats is currently unknown. His beautiful coat will also need regular brushing at home, along with professional grooming approximately every 8 weeks to keep him comfortable and looking his best. If you’re looking for a small, social companion and are willing to give Kookie the structure, patience, and guidance he needs, this adorable little guy could be the perfect addition to your family! *Kookie and Luci are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. Their adoption fee is Adopt 1, Get the 2nd Half Off, making the total adoption fee $510 for both dogs.

Hiya! Kermit here! I may be a little guy, but I have a very big personality and an even bigger appreciation for snacks. I arrived at the shelter with my friend Ms. Piggy after we were left behind, and while nobody knows much about our past, I have decided that dwelling on it is no way to spend my days. These days, I am much more interested in meeting people, collecting treats and bouncing happily around the room like I have just discovered something tremendously exciting. I am a friendly, social little fellow who is always happy to stop by and say hello before heading off to investigate whatever else is happening.I absolutely adore people and think attention is one of life`s greatest inventions. I love being petted, I enjoy a good cuddle and I will happily accept pretty much any treat you are willing to offer. Toys haven`t quite caught my attention yet, but honestly, who needs toys when you have humans to play with? I do know how to sit, and I am a very enthusiastic student when food is involved. I am still figuring out this whole leash business and may have a brief `WHAT IS HAPPENING?!` moment when we first head out, but I recover quickly and seem to enjoy myself once I settle in. With a little patience, I am sure I will learn that leashes are simply the magical string that leads to walkies.I also enjoy canine company, especially when my friends understand that I am a dainty gentleman who prefers polite introductions and appropriately silly play. I can likely live with another dog and would likely enjoy having a respectful playmate to bounce around with. Cats and kids are unknown to me, but I may do just fine with either given the right match.Life may not have started out very kindly for me, but I am ready to make up for lost time. So if you are looking for a sweet, playful, food-loving little frog who is ready to leap straight into a happier chapter, I think we should meet.
