Story
We are located in Southern California but we adopt all over the map no matter what state you are in and will happily drive/fly to you if you are unable to come to us as long as transport is covered. Meet Niko! He is a purebred yorkie. He is 4 years of age. He weighs right around the 7 lb mark, and yes he is fully grown and at a very healthy weight. He is neutered, micorchipped, current on all vaccines, and has been cleared by our vet to find a home all his own. He is house trained, and has been introduced to pads if needed in his next home. He will go outside to use the restroom about 3 times a day. He is crate trained, and has no issue going into a crate if his new adopting family wishes to have him sleep there. He however, LOVES being in bed with his humans, so if you are looking for a snuggle buddy at bedtime, he will happily oblige. He is your true definition of a lap dog, and loves to be near his human as often as he can. We would love to find him a home where his new humans are either retired, or work from home, so that he can remain his happiest little self every day moving forward as he is HAPPIEST when they are around. He is a great traveling partner, so if you take any type of road trips, long or short, he sits in his booster seat and is always ready for wherever the road takes him even if just to run errands around town. He is good with all the dogs we have here, big or small; but doesn't need to have dog friends in his new home as long as he has his person. He is also very good with cats, so that won't be an issue if you have any cat friends at home. He is a very sweet, loving, beautiful little boy patiently waiting for a family to call his own again so if that's you reach out to us and tell us all about yourself, the home you would be providing, and your breed experience andd from there we will be in contact! Adoption fee Along with its breakdown is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org under his listing.

Story
(We will personally be transporting dogs to the PA area and anywhere in route from us here in Southern California to PA leaving June 8th 2024. Transportation costs will be divided between all adopting families in route.) Meet Mitzi. She is a purebred yorkie. She turned two on February 14th 2024. She weighed 7.4 lbs at time of her spay on 1/24/24 and yes, she is at a healthy weight. She is now healed from her spay, is current on vaccines, microchipped, had a dental cleaning done, and has been treated for a double eye and nose infection. Upon coming to us she wouldn't open one of her eyes as it was very crusty, and extremely irritated. Her other eye was open but you could tell it was also hurting her to some extent. Upon examination at our vet it was discovered she had two scratched corneas that the prior owner didn't treat or make us aware of, as they told us she had been examined and was diagnosed with dry eye and after attempting to contact them after our vets findings they decided to no longer respond to us. We don't have any answers as to how it happened, but our vet stepped in and treated both eyes and said she would make a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 She indeed is a superstar, and has healed beautifully! She is still on eye ointment, and our vet wants her back for a recheck on/by February 21st but said that recheck could be done by another vet as he is comfortable releasing care at this point if the new adopting family is as well 💝 She is pad trained, and has no issue using them if desired but she also loves to go outside as long as she is accompanied by someone as we have a lot of wildlife here and keeping her safe is top priority. She is great with all dogs, and cats alike. She is VERY sweet with men, women, and children alike. Although we don't know much of her past life, as the little that was given to us was sadly not true, what we do know is that it hasn't stopped her from loving with every single ounce of her heart ❤️ Her owner went into hospice care, and a neighboring family took her in and eventually reached out to us to take her in as they claimed taking her in was only a temporary solution. She is AMAZING on road trips, loves walks around town, and is very good at the groomers once her excitement wears off of being doted on 😁 She will make an exceptional companion to a single person, couple, or a family. She adapts easily, and would be happy to be a part of your world, however that looks ❤️ Her adoption fee is broken down on our website under her listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/mitzi-1. Her vet costs have exceeded her fee alone adding in her dental, and double eye treatment but helping her heal from the trauma she recieved was most important. Her overall care, time with us, and training are also always considered in an adoption fee, but in her case it's just an added bonus to the love she has recieved since with us here 💓
