Story
For inquiries email ashley@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $600 Location: Montpelier, VA Meet Sally! She is a sweet, little 7 year old, 9 pound Maltese. She comes to us from a puppy mill in Pennsylvania. She is very new in rescue but is warming up and enjoying life as a pet not property. Her tail wags all the time and she is very interested in her new surroundings. She will need a calm, patient home to allow her to adjust to pet life. A fenced yard is not required but will be an asset to her. She has never walked on leash. She has been a money maker for 7 years. She deserves a slow approach from a family who will not rush her and give her an opportunity to learn and grow. She is very sweet and will definitely make a wonderful pet in time. She just needs time. Sally is temporarily staying in Norfolk with a foster near the Snip Squad, our new and fabulous low cost clinic. This clinic allows us to take in dogs from puppy mills who have had no care and typically need many teeth extracted. Without their help, the rescue could not afford to help dogs like Sally. While the Snip Squad does give a wonderful discount her vetting to get to Virginia plus the cost of the dental and spay will total more than $1500. Sally will be spayed and have a dental performed on Monday, June 22nd then move to her foster home when she is ready. After she recovers, she will be ready for her new life with her new family. Apply now. She is a gem you don't want to miss! Want to help cover the cost of her dental and spay surgery? Donate using one of the links below...any amount helps and is greatly appreciated! Story
For inquiries email martine@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $600 Location: Southern Shores, NC Meet Zinnia A Little Pocket of Love Hi, Im Zinnia, a 4-year-old Yorkie girl, and at just 8 pounds, Im basically the perfect size for a lap or a pocket! I came into rescue with my mama, Stella Parton, and weve never spent a day apart. Shes definitely the more confident one, while Im a little more cautious and very much a mamas girl. I like to stay close to my people, too. In fact, if youre sitting down, dont be surprised if I somehow manage to crawl right into your lap or your pocket just to be as close to you as possible. Im also a big fan of a leisurely lap nap, especially if Mama is nearby. I have a sweet little quirk to my walk that my foster family finds absolutely endearing. My back feet are a little weak and slightly turned out, giving me an adorable duck-like stance. I get around quite well, but Im not built for marathon walks. Im perfectly happy exploring the yard and taking in the world at my own pace. Hardwood floors can also be a little tricky for me theyre much slipperier than they seem to be for Mama! And between my short little legs and my hind-end weakness, stairs are currently a challenge. Luckily, at a lean 8 pounds, its easy with some human help. Why walk when you can be carried like the princess you are? Ill be going to the vet on 9/8 to be spayed, and the rescue folks will make sure my legs are evaluated too. I also have suspected dry eyes but Im a superstar for eye drops. Im incredibly cooperative, so my foster family says I make that part easy! I sometimes need a little encouragement to get started on my meals, but once I decide its time to eat, I do just fine. Were also still working on housebreaking. Im not perfect yet, but were making progress! I may be a little more delicate and reserved than my adventurous mama, but I have a whole lot of love to give. What I really want is a person who will let me stay close, give me a safe place to explore at my own pace, and understand that sometimes the best place in the world is simply in your lap. My world is a whole lot brighter and safer with my mamaCan we both come home with you? After all, weve always been a little team. With lots of little-dog love,Mini Zinni Please visit our website www.compactcaninerescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and see other adoptable dogs.

Junior is a sweet, calm, senior gentleman. He is a Maltese type mix. He weighs about 12 pounds and is approximately 10 years old.
