For inquiries email susannah@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $1000 Location: Norfolk, VA Lee Lee is very new to the rescue. She is a 4 pound, 6 month old Maltese (mix). She comes to us from a shelter in Delaware. She has a deformity in her hind limbs and will see the surgeon next week to evaluate her. We are hopeful it can be corrected. We will know more next week. She is a happy little girl who loves everyone. Despite her orthopedic issues she is playful and gets around well. She will need a fenced yard in her new home. Meet Slim Jim 🤍🐾 Slim Jim is a 3-ish-year-old Maltese who has already shown just how resilient and loving he is. Found as a stray in Chesapeake, he arrived very underweight and in need of care—but thanks to foster love, good food, and safety, Slim Jim is now thriving and feeling so much better. In foster care, Slim Jim has revealed his true personality: playful, happy, and full of life. He absolutely loves other dogs, enjoys having canine friends, and does great with kids. He’s affectionate, gentle, and clearly grateful for every bit of kindness he receives. Slim Jim would do best in a home where he can continue to gain confidence, enjoy companionship, and be treated like the cherished family member he deserves to be. Whether that includes a playful dog buddy, children to adore him, or a human ready to spoil him, Slim Jim is ready to start his next chapter. From stray to star—Slim Jim is ready for a forever home where he’ll never be hungry or alone again. 💕

For inquiries email martine@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $700 Location: NC Bonnie Lee is a 3.5 year old unaltered female Shih Tzu - bichon mix. We are not sure of her weight but she is probably around 14-16 pounds. She is very new in rescue. She was purchased from a puppy store. She was seen by the vet as a very young puppy. She received her first vaccines and was never seen again. She was surrendered due to lack of financial resources to care for her.Bonnie needs to learn to wear a harness and walk on lead. She appears to be house trained. So far she has been cordial to her foster family. Once we get to know her and understand her needs we will post more. She has not been groomed for some time. Her coat is so matted and in horrible shape. She desperately needs to be groomed.She needs to see the vet asap for vaccine updates and an exam. We will get her up to speed and post more photos soon.
