Story
Meet Molly – A Sweet Mountain Cur mix in Search of Love and Healing! Molly, a 35lb, 1-2 year-old Mountain Cur mix, is a gentle, playful girl ready to embrace her well-earned retirement. Rescued from a Pizza Hut parking lot, Molly came to her foster family very pregnant, malnourished, and unfamiliar with the comforts of indoor living. But this resilient girl has quickly caught on, making herself at home—especially on the recliner chair! She does have manners though and will only jump up on furniture if you tell her it's okay. Molly loves chasing toys, playing fetch, and showing off her adorable bunny-like bounces. She loves to be right near you, sits in your lap at times, loves belly rubs and her ears scratched! When she’s extra excited, she does sometimes nibble on your shirt or hand. Molly loves other humans and would do best in a family with older kids. The world is still new and she is very timid at first and can get scared around loud noises. Molly can get rowdy with her play as well. She is still learning manners in a house and what toys are hers and what items are not….like shoes! We are working on commands such as sit and lay down. She is potty trained and will walk well on a leash…unless she sees a squirrel! She has a strong prey drive for birds and squirrels. Molly needs a family that is willing help her grow and has patience for a puppy personality. She is a quick learner and eager to please. She does well with other dogs. She needs someone to be the leader so she doesn’t feel like she has to do the protecting because deep down she is really scared inside. Mountain Cur’s are very smart, playful and need good exercise.  Most importantly, Molly needs someone ready to help her heal the rest of the way, finish behavior training (manners), and spoil her rotten for all the love and affection she missed in her early years. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Molly, she’ll fill your life with magic, joy, and unconditional love. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Molly’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shuggie is an 8-year old Catahoula/Blue Heeler cross, who has lived with his current family since he was a puppy; now, however, his owners are relocating in another country in order to care for an elderly relative, and they prefer to find Shuggie a new home rather than move him around the world. Shuggie is a sweet dog and although he has interacted well with children in the past, he has not lived with children and he would do best in an adult home.  He also is too interested in cats and should not be asked to live with them.  He has lived with other dogs and interacted well with them. Shuggie has a bite history, which his owners say resulted from a utility worker's reaching a hand over the fence into Shuggie's yard, which took the dog by surprise.  However, there is far more to Shuggie than that one incident, and his owners say this about him: Shuggie is a high-energy, intelligent, and deeply loyal companion who's looking for his perfect match. This food-motivated pup loves nothing more than an active adventure whether it's hiking trails, long walks, or chasing after his favorite tennis balls! While Shuggie is incredibly loving, he takes time to warm up to new people and requires a patient approach to building trust. He's made tremendous progress through extensive training and responds well to positive reinforcement and structured introductions. To learn more about Shuggie or to arrange to meet him, please contact his owners at  laura.e.cleary@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 24, 2025, 7:08 pm
