Story
I am available through HSMO`s Foster-to-Adopt program! I am being treated for heartworm disease, and because the treatment can take a few months, I am able to continue my treatment in your home, rather than stay in the shelter during that time. Once my treatment is over, we can finalize the adoption, making me a permanent member of your family. HSMO will provide all the food, medication, and veterinary care during the foster period, and the staff at HSMO is happy to answer any questions you might have about heartworms. You will need to bring me to the HSMO shelter to see the veterinarian as needed, and to avoid complications from the treatment, I need to be kept as quiet as possible. That means no rough housing or playing hard with people or other pets. I will need to be on leash outside at all times and can only take short, 15-minute walks three to four times a day. However, the good news is that once my treatment is over, I can run and play and be silly again!

Story
Charlie is a sweet, affectionate puppy with a fun and playful personality. When he is outside, he loves to run, explore, sniff around, and play. Inside the house, he does wonderfully. He enjoys playing with his toys and loves having a cozy spot to relax. When he is tired, he is happiest curled next to you.Charlie is crate trained and does an excellent job in his kennel, keeping it clean and settling in nicely. He is also doing great with potty training and hasn’t had any recent accidents. He lets you know it is time to go outside by hanging around the back door!Charlie knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, rides nicely in the car, and is eager to learn. Overall, he is a happy, loving puppy who simply enjoys being with his people and would make a wonderful addition to a family.Charlie is 5 months old and weighs 24 pounds. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a puppy, please complete an adoption application on our website. Puppies are in foster homes, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. www.helpingstrays.org

Story
Hello there, sorry for the wait ... My name is Doc and I'm here to see YOU actually! Let's see now, you say you're experiencing the lack of a fun loving companion dog in your life? You need to get out and go on walks more? And you say here that you have a huge backyard but no one to play in it with? These symptoms lead me to believe you're suffering from INAD syndrome ... also known as "I need a dog disease." and we have JUST the cure for you!!! I am a DOC :) Well, I think I can prescribe you something that'll help reduce these symptoms and get you back on track to healthy living.... here is what one of my admirers has to say about me ;) "Doc is a super playful dude and is soo happy to meet everyone he sees and just is an overall bouncing bundle of joy. He loves walks, pets and scratches, and loves to do sprints with you. When you're walking he will walk slightly ahead of you and is super excited to meet everyone. He'll try to pull but once he realizes you are not coming too fast he will do this cute little hop thing where he bounces between his front paws and his back paws, its adorable" That is quite an admirer, right??? If you'll just go ahead and sign here on my adoption papers, we can get started right now on your treatment!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
