She will play bow and bark at the cat to play, so we would recommend dog savvy or playful cats, or no cats.Kids: Yes, any ageApartment Friendly: YesFence Requirements: Physical fence not requiredCrate-Trained: YesPotty-Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Trudy has the softest fur, and a beautiful brindle coat! She absolutely loves toddlers (OK, really people of any age!) and every dog she has met. She loves to cuddle and be by you, she will rest her head on your shoulder or squeeze her face between your neck and the couch! She loves the snow, she face dives into it and hops like an artic hare! She is a lovely house guest; crate trained, housebroken, and overall just a solid family dog.Likes: Love! and playing with dogs & food/snacksDislikes: n/a Trudy is a petite girlie (think beagle size). She watches you with adoring eyes, and loves to show you love by close cuddles or smooshing her head next to yours. She is respectful (not invasive!), but will never turn down love. Trudy has a lust for life when it comes to snow and playing with buddies. While she likes to run and wrestle around, she usually does so with her friends outside rather than inside! All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2638507##

Story
Meet Benny Benny came in as a stray on 1/13/26 and is estimated to be about 2 years old—and yes, those eyes are real. One look at his different-colored eyes and you’ll be convinced he’s part supermodel, part cartoon character. Add in his ears, which permanently look like he’s either very surprised or just stepped out of a wind tunnel, and you’ve got a truly unforgettable package. Benny may be a little nervous at first, but he gets over it quickly and shows his sweet, friendly personality. He loves treats (who doesn’t?) and proudly shows off his ability to sit on command. While toys didn’t really impress him, Benny preferred to take in the world around him, curiously exploring everything like he’s on an important mission. If you’re looking for a dog with looks that stop traffic, ears with a mind of their own, and a kind, gentle heart, Benny is ready to meet you. Benny is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH Phone: 419-774-5892 Adoption is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Story
Momtisserie has been quietly stealing hearts at the shelter since November 14th, 2025—and she’s more than ready for one to finally take her home. At around 1–1½ years old, she’s in that magical in-between stage: young enough to be playful and joyful, but mature enough to be learning her manners and settling into herself. She’s house trained, eager to connect, and loves the people she trusts with her whole heart. Momtisserie does best with older kids who can read her cues and share in her excitement for life. She’d love a home where she can stretch her legs, feel the grass under her paws. With a family willing to keep building on her training and enrichment, Momtisserie has all the makings of a deeply loyal, loving companion—one who’s just waiting for someone to choose her.
