Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Tate is the happiest, sweetest, and goofiest pup you’ll ever meet! This one-year-old, 40-pound Mountain Cur mix is bursting with love and energy, always wagging his little tail and ready to play. He’s an easygoing guy who just wants to please, making him an absolute joy to have around. One of Tate’s most adorable quirks is his unique way of inviting other dogs to play—he gently pokes them in the chest with his front paw, as if to say, “Tag, you’re it!” It’s the cutest thing ever and never fails to bring a smile to your face. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs, especially those who can match his playful spirit. Though he might occasionally get on an older dog’s nerves with his enthusiasm, he’s just so full of life and fun. Tate is making great progress with house training and does well when taken out regularly. He’s also fully crate trained, seeing his crate as a safe space, especially when that pesky vacuum cleaner comes out! While he’s still learning some basic commands, his eagerness to please makes him a great student. On a leash, he walks well, and while car rides make him a little nervous, he stays calm and quiet in the back seat. An active home with plenty of space to run would be perfect for Tate. He would thrive with a playmate but would also be happy as an only pet, as long as he gets lots of love and exercise. Whether he’s romping in the yard, searching for moles, or curling up with his favorite humans, Tate is sure to bring endless happiness and loyalty to his forever family. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and downright wonderful companion, Tate is ready to steal your heart!  Interested in adopting? Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Riviera, or Riva for short, a sweet and gentle 11-month-old Mountain Cur dog mix weighing 31 lbs. With a medium energy level, she enjoys playtime but also knows how to settle down and relax. She’s coming out of her shell more each day, despite being very timid when she was first rescued. One of the most endearing things about Riva is how happy she gets at mealtime! Her tail wags from side to side with pure joy. She’s learning to trust people and is eager to try new experiences. She loves playing with other dogs, chasing balls and Frisbees, and pulling the stuffing out of plush toys. A good chew or bully stick makes her day even better. Riva is housetrained and is crate trained, sleeping quietly through the night. She’s well-behaved in her crate and goes in willingly. She’s also picking up training and will “sit” for dinner, though without food, she’s still working on it! She walks wonderfully on a leash and is calm in the car, even laying comfortably during recent training sessions. Riva gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. She is good with dog-savvy cats and has shown curiosity around livestock. With new people, she can be timid, but she is making great progress in building confidence. She would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and a confident owner who can provide the calm leadership she needs. Riva doesn’t need pity, she needs understanding and encouragement to continue growing into the amazing dog she’s becoming. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to bloom with the right guidance, Riva is the girl for you. Apply to adopt her today!  Interested in adopting? Story
** Meet Gavin: Distinguished Gentleman Seeks Forever Staff ** Hello, kind human. My name is Gavin, and I’m a 9½-year-old dreamboat with a dashing brindle coat, a sophisticated gray muzzle, and the wisdom of a dog who knows exactly when it’s time to nap, play, or strut his stuff like he owns the block. Weighing in at a fit 70 lbs. of pure love and class, I’m what the experts call a "good boy"—but I prefer the term exceptional gentleman. I’ve got excellent manners, stellar recall, and I don’t believe in chewing your furniture when you leave. I’m far too refined for that sort of nonsense. I adore kids 10 and up, other dogs, cats, and anyone who tells me I’m handsome (which is everyone, obviously). I love to prance like I'm auditioning for a canine Broadway show, and I’m rarely seen without my favorite slipper in my mouth—I’m not chewing it, just respectfully carrying it like the treasured artifact it is. Leash walks? I glide. Playtime? Let’s go! Couch snuggles? You had me at hello. Whether you’re looking for a loyal hiking buddy or a cuddle connoisseur, I’m your guy. I’m cool being left alone (but don’t be gone too long—I will miss you), and I just want to be near my people. I may be a little seasoned, but I’ve got plenty of spunk and sweetness left to give. Adopt me, and together we’ll make the neighbors jealous. Swipe right on Gavin today. Your slipper may never be lonely again. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/adopt/adoption-application/ then email Debbie@BigFluffyDogs.com Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process. NOTE TO EMAILERS FROM PETFINDER: WE DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL INQUIRIES WITHOUT AN APPLICATION. WE REGRET WE CANNOT RESPOND TO EVERY EMAIL, BUT UNLESS YOU FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, WE DO NOT KNOW YOU EXIST. All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be. Homes considering adopting a puppy must be prepared for 1.) Flexible schedules for potty training. Puppies can only hold it for one hour per month of age (i.e. a 4-month-old puppy can only go 4 hours without a potty break). 2.) Crate training until the puppy is at least one year old to prevent chewing on inappropriate things when you can't supervise. 3.) Socialization. The more positive and varying experiences as a puppy the better, both in and out of your home. 4.) Puppy behavior and life stages are equivalent to a human toddler. It takes at least a full year to have a calmer, well-adjusted dog. Patience is required and when your dog's behavior is a positive experience for you and those around you, your patience will be rewarded ten-fold, for years to come. Please do not consider adopting a puppy if you have not thoroughly thought through the pros and cons of having one. So many people end up returning them after 3-5 months because they didn't realize the amount of work involved in raising a puppy. Patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training are all musts. All are time-consuming and can be expensive. All dogs require supervision with children and obedience training. Adopters that want to have good dogs must be prepared to put the time and effort into training a dog. Any dog requires work and effort, but a well trained, well-socialized dog is more than worth the effort to get them there.
