Story
COURTESY LISTINGBrandy is a courtesy listing, not in the AARF foster program, and we are posting online to help the owner find a home for them. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Brandy is a wonderful pup at 40lbs, Mountain Cur mix, at about 5-6 years old. She has a sweet, affectionate nature and a calm, laid-back personality that makes her an easy companion to have around. She loves people of all ages, including children, and enjoys being part of the family. She has done well with other dogs overall, but because she can be protective of food and treats around them, she would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. That way, she can relax, feel secure, and soak up all the love and attention she deserves. This sweet girl would make an amazing companion for someone looking to give an adult dog another chance. She has so much love to give and deserves a family who will love her just as much in return. She is spayed, up to date and has her most recent shot records.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 15, 2026, 6:02 pm

Story
We adopted Rubin this past February/March. He was to be a companion for another dog we have. He has been great for our other dog, but they both need new homes. I work out of town and very long hours now, so, I cannot keep up with the needs of dogs any longer. Rubin aims to please and is so very affectionate and entertaining. He loves to play tug of war with any kind of toy, he loves belly rubs, and knows the commands “sit” and “stay”. Rubin is wireless fence trained, but had an obvious fear of going beyond the line even without the collar. Going for walks around the neighborhood or getting him in the car is challenging due to his fear of the line. Rubin does not seem to like the water. We never took him to a body of water, but when using a water hose, a sprinkler, or dog pool- he did not want any involvement. I believe Rubin would prefer to be an indoor dog due to his attempts to get inside of mine. He will be dearly missed.
