Story
This nice dog, Rocco, was left in my care by a homeless man who loved him, but circumstances were not healthy or safe for Rocco. The owner left hm with me and never returned. He's pretty bomb proof and very quite protective. From what I've experienced, he settles down and is accepting very quickly. He was raised by a woman in a home with cats before being given to a man who misrepresented himself: Rocco experienced no abuse from his adopter and proved himself to be quite adaptable. I am not sure about pecking order if he were brought into a home with other dogs, but he is eager to please. He walks well on a leash, is house trained, loyal, not hyper, and would love a home where there is hiking and playing. He would be a fabulous companion for an outdoors person. I think that he is around three years old. I volunteer in a busy place in Ojai and he goes with me there and does not to be secured, everyone loves him. He sleeps quietly on my bed. Please consider taking him into your life.

Meet Trooper 🐾 — a goofy, lovable guy looking for the right home Trooper is a 3-year-old boy with a BIG personality. He is sweet, playful, quirky, treat-motivated, and mischievous enough to keep you laughing.❤️ Trooper thrives on being together & routine, & is looking for an adult-only, calm & structured home. A retiree or someone who works from home would be ideal, esp. someone active who wants a companion for walks, adventures, and everyday life. He's a good citizen at doggie daycare and enjoys other dogs when properly introduced. He's smart and eager to please. His family loves him dearly, but their busy home with children, friends, & frequent activity simply isn't where Trooper thrives. We're looking for the right person who can give this funny, sweet, mischievous boy the quieter, predictable life that suits him. Trooper is in Simi Valley, CA & we're committed to finding the match and would love to talk to you if you think you may his furever person!

Story
It pains us to put Rue up for adoption, but think a new home will be best for her. Rue is crazy smart, very sweet, and loves fetch and activity. She was very timid when we adopted her in the shelter, but she very quickly latched onto my wife, who is now her person and safe space. However she was and still is very nervous and afraid of me indoors, something we've been trying to navigate with advice from several trainers and behaviorists. The problem only has seem to gotten worse, and we hate seeing her live in a state of anxiety. We have found that a lot of big men intimidate her, but she warms up to women very quickly. We think the most ideal home for her is a single woman who loves a lot of exercise and affection, bonus if they have another dog, as Rue gets along and loves other dogs. We are not sure if its a protective trait, but she seems to be more afraid of myself than other men, but overall she is weary of new men, mainly indoors.
