Story
Ember is 42lb female mix who is about 2 years old. She was originally found as a stray and brought to the Jax Humane Society where we adopted her. She is an extremely loving, kind, and gentle girl. She is fully house and crate trained. She loves being cuddled and wants nothing more than love and companionship. She knows and obeys all basic commands, sit, stay, lay down, go to crate/bed, come, etc. She responds to finger snaps and other hand motions that we would be happy to teach her new owner. We have witnessed minimal interaction with other dogs but what we have seen has always been very playful and full of excitement. We have one 3 year old who she is very gentle with. When voices are raised, like telling her “No” in a loud voice, Ember does cower. We are unaware if she endured any abuse in the past but she is very expressive in these situations (cowers, runs to bed). We are sad to see such a wonderful dog go but new life events have led to her not getting the attention she deserves

Story
Ozzie is a sensitive, anxious young dog who needs a calm, patient home. He does very well with other dogs and enjoys daycare, but is fearful of unfamiliar people and may growl if approached too quickly. He is also sensitive to noise and can be easily startled. He was adopted as a rescue at 8 months old and the rescue found him on the streets, so he likely had little socialization as a puppy. He is house-trained and currently on fluoxetine for anxiety. Ongoing behavioral support and veterinary care will likely be needed.Ideal home is quiet, low-traffic, with minimal visitors, other dogs, and a yard to run and play. Best suited for an experienced owner willing to go slow and use positive reinforcement. Not recommended for homes with young children.Adopter must be patient and committed to helping him adjust. He has shown he can do well in the right environment and is a super sweet boy who loves cuddles when he is comfortable.

Story
Adopted from ACPS. She was already returned due to allergies after being adopted as a puppy. She would do best in a home without female dogs and absolutely no cats or other small animals. She is good with my male shepherd and 8 year old. She tries to constantly attack my cats and she does not get along with my female dog. Just turned a year old in February loves to cuddle and be by your side.

Story
This is my dog Kodak, I’m looking for a good home for him because of housing situations and a busy schedule. It’s not fair for him so I’d like to give him to people who can treat him good. He’s 10 months old, a loving, curious and goofy dog. He is just missing one shot that I’m going to schedule for before adoption, he’s a very good dog and am sad that I have to rehome him.

Story
I saved Scottie from being euthanized at the pound. I was told he is around 2 years old and some sort of husky mix. He is a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle and play with his toys. He gets along with other dogs, cats, and people. Since he is a young dog he has a lot of energy but he will lay down and relax if that’s what you are doing. He is still working on being house trained. He can walk on a leash but is working on not pulling as much. He has all his shots up to date expect rabies and is still an intact male. I cannot keep him due to our other dog not accepting and being aggressive towards him.

He’s good with kids he just gets excited a little about new people he’s still young. He does good in the house just needs a little time
