Story
BASIC INFORMATION 🙃 Describe their temperament: Ariel is very skittish with humans, she prefers the company of dogs. It takes her a while to warm up to new people, and will often startle if you stand up or move suddenly, even if she likes you. If she’s scared she will take off, so she is currently a flight risk and will need someone who knows how to work her through these fears. 🔋 Energy level: Medium - Typical pet energy; will need walks and/or play sessions to fulfill energy needs daily. 🔓 Are they crate trained? She is crate trained 🚽 Are they potty trained? Mostly, but does have some accidents still. 🎓 Known commands (if any): None at this time 🔗 How do they do on leash? Leash walking needs work, she will sit and refuse to walk at times, and is easily startled. 🥩 What is their favorite snack? Any dietary restrictions or allergies? She likes turkey and chicken. 🥎 What is their favorite toy? She does not play with toys, she prefers to romp with her canine companions 👠 Can they differentiate toys from items they are not allowed to chew on/play with? She doesn’t chew anything 🩶 Likes: Being with other dogs ✖️ Dislikes: Loud noises & quick movements BEHAVIOR 🐩 How do they interact with other dogs? She loves to play with other dogs; she can run around with another dog for hours! 🐈‍⬛ How do they interact with cats? Other small animals? Haven’t tested her, none in foster home 🍼 How do they interact with kids? She’s ok with kids, but because of her fear she would likely do best with older kids or an adult only home 👤 How do they interact with people? Meeting strangers? Strangers coming up to the door at home? Lays on the couch and shakes, she has a lot of fear to work through the poor thing 😥 🚕 How do they do in the car? Doesn’t like it 🧼 How do they do in the bath? Tries to get out - needs work 💅🏼 How do they do for nails? Unknown 🤝🏼 How well do they tolerate general handling? She’s skittish, she doesn’t bite or growl, but wants to get away 🩶 They need more help with...? Building confidence and working through her fears 💔 ______ 📜 Any known history: She is from Louisiana 💌 A note from my foster: She is a sweet dog, but will need an experienced home; she needs a lot of training and guidance to become the best dog possible. Her fears are holding her back BUT she does come out of her shell around dogs so having a confident dog in the home would help her tremendously

Story
BASIC INFORMATION 🙃 Describe their temperament: He loves everyone he meets, even loves kids! But his puppy biting needs, he would need a tolerant home to work him through this behavior. He’s very friendly, just a puppy! 🔋 Energy level: medium, gets the zoomies and then rests for a few hours, typical puppy energy 🔓 Are they crate trained? Mostly, 95% percent of the time there's no accidents in the crate. 🚽 Are they potty trained? Almost, se's doing well on a schedule! 🎓 Known commands (if any): 'Sit', and 'enough' (when it's time to stop playing) 🔗 How do they do on leash? He's too young to leave the safety of our yard due to not being completely vaccinated; so leash training has not been attempt. But this week our goal is starting him on leash training in our yard! 🥩 What is their favorite snack? Any treat, doesn’t seem to have a preference Any dietary restrictions or allergies? No 🥎 What is their favorite toy? Anything, he loves those teething toys. 👠 Can they differentiate toys from items they are not allowed to chew on/play with? Not yet, but we always distract him with proper chew things and she'll redirect. 🩶 Likes: attention, having people play with him ✖️ Dislikes: Haven't found anything he dislikes yet BEHAVIOR 🐩 How do they interact with other dogs? He does amazing with the other two dogs in foster home. 🐈‍⬛ How do they interact with cats? Other small animals? Our cats basically avoid the area where the puppies are, but when they are in the same room he will chase after them. He is young enough that with training he should be able to overcome this; in fact, while with another foster he was around dog savvy cats who he did tremendous with! We also have rabbit in other room away from the fosters, but he meet them and did well... I still wouldn’t trust him with small critters without direct supervision 🍼 How do they interact with kids? He loves when our friend's 8 years old son comes over, they would chase each other around the yard and play toss and catch. He also meet a one year old, he loved them but the toddler found him to be a bit much because he wanted to lick them 👤 How do they interact with people? Meeting strangers? Strangers coming up to the door at home? He’s always watching quietly and curious then approach them happily to say hello! 🚕 How do they do in the car? Good, lays down and naps 🧼 How do they do in the bath? Haven’t needed bath yet. 💅🏼 How do they do for nails? Haven’t had nails clipped yet 🤝🏼 How well do they tolerate general handling? No problem being picked up and likes to jump on your lap for cuddles and pets. 🩶 They need more help with...? General puppy training ______ 📜 Any known history: He came into our rescue at 6-7 weeks old along with 6 brothers and a sister which most have been adopted. 💌 A note from my foster: Cement have been with us since he entered the rescue 6 weeks ago and we love to watch him grow and watch his personally grow too. Story
BASIC INFORMATION 🙃 Describe their temperament: Very sweet, affectionate, loving, and people-oriented. She is currently very timid and nervous while adjusting to her new surroundings. She has come a long way from Louisiana and is still learning that she is safe. She can be startled by loud noises or fast movements and may retreat to her bed when frightened. She is definitely more scared of mens loud voices but she really wants to be loved by everyone. Once she feels safe, she is incredibly loving and wants to stay close to her person. She would do best with a patient family willing to give her time to decompress and build confidence. If she has a dog bed she will lay down and stay while you walk around the room. 🔋 Energy level: Medium - Typical pet energy; will need walks and/or play sessions to fulfill energy needs daily. she enjoys being with you and going places but also LOVES naps and cuddling. 🔓 Are they crate trained? I have not closed the door of her crate yet but she likes having a place to retreat when overwhelmed and goes in on her own. 🚽 Are they potty trained? Mostly. She has had some accidents, which seem to be related to her fear of going outside. She is still adjusting and we believe this will improve significantly as she becomes more comfortable and confident. 🎓 Known commands (if any): Sit, lay down, come. She is very willing to learn! 🔗 How do they do on leash? Wonderful! She walks very nicely on a leash and stays close to her person. 🥩 What is their favorite snack? Any dietary restrictions or allergies? Cheese 🥎 What is their favorite toy? Stuffed animals/ anything she can tear a part 👠 Can they differentiate toys from items they are not allowed to chew on/play with? No, she is still figuring that out 🩶 Likes: Her people ❤️, following you around, cuddling, hugs, naps, walks, dogs, cats, kids, goats, and simply being included in whatever you’re doing. ✖️ Dislikes: Loud noises, fast movements BEHAVIOR 🐩 Describe how do they interact with other dogs? She does well with dogs and has been friendly and appropriate around them. She is very respectful to every dog she has met. 🐈‍⬛ Describe how do they interact with cats? Other small animals? She does well with cats. She gives them space and backs off if they back up. She has also been around goats and does well with them. 🍼 Describe how do they interact with kids? She does well with kids. Because she is timid, respectful interactions and allowing her to approach at her own pace are ideal. 👤 Describe how do they interact with people? Meeting strangers? Strangers coming up to the door at home? She is very sweet with people but is currently timid with unfamiliar people and situations. She may become nervous if someone moves quickly toward her or if there is a lot of noise. When frightened, she may hide in her bed or seek physical reassurance. She is not aggressive in any interaction she is simply learning to trust and feel safe. 🚕 How do they do in the car? We are working on boundaries in the car. While she likes car rides she likes to try to be in the front seat. 🧼 How do they do in the bath? Unknown 💅🏼 How do they do for nails? Unknown 🤝🏼 How well do they tolerate general handling? Very well. She enjoys affection, cuddling, and hugs. When nervous, getting down to her level and calmly reassuring her helps her feel safe. 🩶 They need more help with...? Building confidence and learning that the world is safe. She needs continued work with feeling comfortable outside and establishing a consistent potty routine. She would benefit enormously from a patient family who understands that she may need some time to come out of her shell. 📜 Any known history: She came to the shelter from Louisiana. Because she is still adjusting to a completely new environment, she is currently very timid and easily startled. Her history before arriving at the shelter is unknown. 💌 A note from my foster: This girl has my heart. I really want people to understand that what you see right now isn't necessarily who she is going to be once she knows she is home. She is scared. She is adjusting. She came all the way from Louisiana and is trying to figure out that she is finally somewhere safe. When something scares her, she may tuck her tail and run to her bed. If you get down on her level and reassure her, she settles right in. If you stay standing, however, she may decide that the only logical solution is to put all 55 pounds of herself into your arms. But underneath that nervousness is the sweetest dog. She follows me everywhere. I wash dishes and she's right behind my legs. I go into another room and she's only a few steps behind. She just wants to be with you. She walks beautifully on a leash. She likes dogs, cats, kids, and even goats. She loves naps, cuddles, and hugs. She doesn't ask for much she just wants to feel safe and be near her person. She's had a few potty accidents because she's still nervous about going outside, but I truly believe this is something that will improve as she becomes comfortable and confident. She's been through a huge transition, and I don't think it's fair to expect her to instantly understand that everything is okay. She needs someone patient. Someone who will give her time. Someone who won't give up on her just because she's nervous at first. Because I really believe that once she realizes she's home, she's going to blossom into an incredible companion. She's not a perfect, finished product right now. She's a scared girl who is learning how wonderful life can be. And she deserves someone willing to show her. I hope her forever family sees what I see in her, because this girl is incredibly special.
