Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Meet Taz! A true New Yorker, borough-born and bred, Taz is a 9+ year-old gentleman who fully embraces a calm, unbothered approach to life. He’s not in a rush for anything, unless it’s getting back to his nap. You’ll often find him snoozing (and snoring… loudly), sometimes even while he’s technically awake. Everyone who has met Taz has immediately fallen in love with his lopsided ears and silly eyes that give him a bit of a chameleon vibe. He’s a mellow, low-key guy who enjoys his space and appreciates a calm, predictable environment. While he’s mostly chill, he’ll occasionally show off a playful side with a quick burst of tail-chasing energy or a game of fetch before returning to his regularly scheduled lounging. On walks, Taz is a pro. He moves at an easy pace on a loose leash and is happiest when the world around him stays respectful of his personal bubble. He doesn’t love when people rush into his space, so a home that can advocate for him and give him a bit of buffer will help him feel most comfortable. He’s wonderfully house-trained, taking care of business promptly outside, and often makes his own way from his favorite lounging spot in the living room to his crate for a change of scenery. Even when left home alone, he’s calm, content, and completely unbothered. If you’re looking for an independent companion with a touch of grumpy charm (think Carl from Up!), Taz might just be your guy!

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Ruthie is a sweet, playful girl with a gentle soul and a heart full of loyalty. While she may take a little time to warm up to new people, it’s only because she likes to take things at her own pace. Once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll discover just how affectionate, devoted, and downright adorable she truly is. Ruthie is wonderfully independent and perfectly content doing her own thing around the apartment. She’s not a velcro dog—she doesn’t need to be by your side every second—but she enjoys companionship in her own relaxed way. Whether she’s lounging in her favorite spot, catching up on beauty sleep, or daydreaming while gazing out the window, Ruthie knows how to appreciate the quieter moments in life. That said, she absolutely loves to hang out when the mood strikes and will happily join you for some quality time. Her balance of independence and affection makes her an easy, low-pressure companion for someone who appreciates a dog with a calm and thoughtful personality. Ruthie would thrive in a patient, loving home that gives her the space to settle in and the time to build trust. In return, she’ll reward you with loyalty, sweetness, and her own special kind of companionship.

She made herself home with my two dogs and in less than 2 weeks she of course owns the place. She is well established senior lady who has a lot of spunk. Very enthusiastic about food and loves to go on for walks. She is fully housetrained as long as we keep her on a regular walking schedule. Lady Woo is the perfect companion. She is content taking her beauty sleep or laying down by my feet while I take work calls.

Story
Dunkin was abandoned by the neighbors in a kennel outside. My mom took him in 6 months ago. He is approx 5 years old and is a pitbull mix. Unfortunately my mom has passed and I am unable to bring Dunkin to my home. He is a very sweet boy. He takes a minute to warm up, but once he’s comfortable he will play and run with you. He does have some nervousness when he is left alone. He has been in a crate however will whine when first placed inside. He would do best with a home and a yard. Apartment life might not be that best for him. I am unsure how he does with other dogs one on one. He appears to be fine when he sees them while we are walking. He has been around cats and doesn’t seem to mind them. He has not been around young children so I am unsure how he would do with them. I am at a loss as far as what to do with this poor guy. Please reach out if you would like to meet Dunkin.

Story
Bernie was my son’s dog. She was a rescue from a reservation in Arizona. She is 6 years old, sweet, completely housetrained, not at all destructive when left alone. We have been keeping her but she does not get along with our cat Cecil who is 8 years old. She loves going on walks, loves other dogs. As often as I can I take her to off-leash in Prospect Park, she loves to run, chase or be chased by other dogs. She is a dear sweet girl but she does not like cats. We live in NYC and she is used to living in Colorado where it is less noisy and there are lots of opportunities to get outside and run. We are looking for a home for her someplace more rural, or at least with outside space, perhaps where there are other dogs so she can have a friend or two. She might be fine with children but we don’t really know as we are in our 60s and it was just her and our son. We will not give her up unless we find a place where she could have a better life with someone kind who has more space.
