Don't let the tough-guy reputation fool you, Garfield is much closer to his namesake. He loves naps, cuddles, lounging on the couch, and being wherever his people are. While he certainly has his playful moments and enjoys a good zoomie session, most of the time he's a sweet, affectionate companion who would happily trade action-hero status for a cozy spot next to you. Garfield is a little ball of energy with an even bigger heart.
He has settled into his foster home routine quickly and has shown himself to be a smart, adaptable dog. He is food motivated, eager to learn, and responds well to praise and affection. He picks up on training cues quickly and enjoys engaging with his humans. Garfield has a great balance of playful and laid-back personality. If you're working from home or having a quiet day, he's happy to nap nearby. When it's time for fun, he's always ready to play fetch, tug, or a take a long walk in the park sniffing new spots!
He especially enjoys chew toys and has done well redirecting his energy with the help of his humans. Garfield has been friendly and playful with other dogs and gentle with children. He walks well on leash overall, with only occasional mild pulling. He is curious and enjoys exploring both indoors and outdoors. Around the house, he likes to stay involved in whatever is going on, whether that's supervising dinner prep from the kitchen floor or following his people from room to room.
