While Twinkie is allegedly 15 years old, he has kept his youthful looks and disposition. He is a foster parent’s dream: fully house-trained, great with my dogs, and a pro at sleeping through the night in his crate. Twinkie loves his beauty sleep and prefers being snuggled up in his blankets, but he still enjoys gentle, slow walks around the block and a little bit of playtime with his toys. He can be hesitant about new things—like entering the elevator or transitioning between different surfaces (tiles vs. carpets)—but with gentle encouragement, he is mastering these in no time. Twinkie gets along beautifully with other dogs; he is affectionate and likes to be held, but is also perfectly content relaxing in his bed. Twinkle Toes’ ideal family is one that can provide a steady, calm, and gentle home for him to spend his golden years. If you’re looking for an easy-going sidekick, your search ends here! Twinkie is ready to find a forever home as wonderful as he is.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Hello! My name is Gretchen. I'm a native New Yorker; I was adopted from the ASPCA when I was a puppy, and lived with my family until about a month ago when my parent got sick and couldn't care for me anymore. I miss them so much, but I still have a lot of love to give to my new family! Since being with my foster, I've met her boyfriend and her sister. I love meeting people, but I need a second to see if I can trust you. They both gave me belly rubs, so they're great in my book. I am a total homebody so being back in an apartment with my blankie and new friends is amazing. I don't mind staying home alone either! I'll keep the couch warm for you. Don't call me an old dog yet; I'm still strong and sassy and smart! I have a lot of life left in me, and if you're willing to be loyal to me, I'll be the most faithful family member you've ever had.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Meet your new favorite nap buddy, adventure partner, and professional heart-stealer! This sweet guy is the definition of best of both worlds. He’s calm, gentle, and wonderfully sleepy. Perfect for cozy afternoons on the couch but don’t be fooled...when it’s time to play, he’s all in. He loves to run, whether it's just getting the zoomies out or playing catch (not really fetch...returning the ball is optional in his book.) He’s incredibly social and does great with dogs and cats. On walks, he’s the kind of dog who happily greets new people like old friends, spreading smiles wherever he goes. At home, he loves being near his people, soaking up cuddles and companionship, while also appreciating having structure and dedicated space of his own to recharge. Overall, he’s an easygoing, affectionate, all-around wonderful dog who’s ready to bring warmth, fun, and calm energy into the right home. He’s not looking for much, just a family to love, a couch to nap on, and a yard or park to run in. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a balanced vibe, he might just be your perfect match.

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Ziggy is a sweet, silly, and loving 4.5 year old dog that we have loved having as part of our family. He was rescued from Tennessee and had a rough start to life, but he has come a long, long way. Ziggy is still a very nervous pup and would prefer a very quiet environment. Ziggy is dog reactive and should be in a home without other pets or children. We recently welcomed a baby, and while he has shown no aggression, he is clearly very uncomfortable with her and is having to be locked away for longer and longer stretches, which isn’t fair to him. We’re heartbroken to be taking this step, but we know that Ziggy can make someone else as happy as he has made us. Ideally, we would like to see Ziggy land with experienced dog owners who live in a quiet and spacious environment without other pets. We do have another dog that he’s great with, so it’s possible that with the right dog (extremely patient, not assertive) and proper introductions, he could thrive in a two-dog home.
