Story
Ellie was found in early winter running around in a nearby county in VA and was picked up by their animal control and kept in their shelter for a short bit. Their heat went out at the shelter so all dogs had to get immediate fosters, so we've had her since January. My heart knew I couldn't take her back to the shelter so I officially adopt her and spayed her, updated bloodwork. shots etc to just take that off their plate. We knew after a bit of having her that she needed to be in a quieter home for training purposes. I have 3 little kids, under the age of 6, and I'm currently pregnant. Ellie is very sweet- not a mean bone in her body and these kids have tested her in every way. However, she is very energetic and excitable when the kids are screaming and running around the house making training impossible. She is great, relaxed when kids are not around to stir her energy up and loves to cuddle. She would do best with older kids who can help train her or a young couple or single person

Story
Summer is 3 year old mixed breed. I got her from my daughter when Summer was 5 weeks old. I am looking for someone who has patience, time and a fenced in yard. Without a fence and she sees a door open, she will run. She does not know recall. I am hoping to find a young family with children that are responsible and will love my dog.

Story
Smoky is a good boy. We got him from the Christiansburg shelter in October of 2025. We are needing to move overseas and aren't able to bring him with us. If we weren't leaving we would keep him. The shelter found him on the street originally, but he had a microchip when they found him and was already neutered and house trained. They tried to contact the information linked to the microchip for months but had no success. We fell in love with him when we saw him and took him in. He is a happy dog and loves meeting new people. He is potty trained and when he needs to go he will let you know by yawning over and over and stretching. We did pay for 3 weeks train and board after we got him. He has a great soul but he does get nervous when people try to kiss him on the head or hug him but just respect his space he will be your best friend and give you lots of smiles. He likes slow calm pets. He loves to fetch.

Story
Bruno is not quite a year old yet he was born in September unsure of exact date, we was supposed to only be holding him for a little while during a friends moving and they are unable to take him back and we are unable to keep him with us as our schedules are not the best to give him the attention he needs, he’s good with cats and kids and other dogs he’s very energetic and we don’t have the space for him to run, he is crate trained. I ideally would need him rehomed as soon as possible as I am getting ready to have surgery on my wrist and my husband works a lot so being able to take him on walks and out will be a struggle

Story
Our family has come to a heartbreaking decision that we need to re-home our dog. Watson is 6 1/2 years old, is current on all his shots, is on flee/tick medication, housebroken, very friendly, and gets along well with other dogs. I don’t think he would do well with cats. He does great with older children, but has been showing signs of being uneasy around our 10 month old. He loves to snuggle on the couch and is always up to play. He really needs a home with lots of land where he can explore for a few hours and/or someone very committed to walking him. We live in a suburb and he will get out of our house/yard almost on the daily basis, but he always comes back.
