In his previous home, he lived outdoors and spent his days herding goats, so he’s happiest when he has a job to do or space to roam and keep watch. Doug takes his role seriously — he enjoys staying busy and thrives in an environment where he feels useful. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, Doug warms up with patience and quickly shows his sweet, devoted nature. He forms strong bonds and loves to stay close to his person, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Doug would do best in a home without cats, as he has a tendency to chase them. Overall, he’s a mellow, steady boy who would love a home that understands his working background and can give him both purpose and companionship. If you have the space, time, and some work for Doug to keep busy, please come meet him today! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
